chapter 5

It's 6:30 the next day and I arrive at the restaurant. I decided to give it half an hour before Interrupting. I wore my smartest suit because its a fancy restaurant, not that she'll see me anyway.

I walk in and immediately spot her. She's at the table, sat opposite him. She's not talking but he is. She smiles at him.

"Look Amy, who's that over there?" I whisper, kneeling down to her. Yes I brought Amy. I know I'm evil, using a child but I don't care. She gets a good meal out of it anyway.

Amy is dressed in a black dress and has her hair in pigtails. She does look adorable.

She gasps. "Oh my god dewek! It mewedith" she jumps up and down. We get sat at a booth. I sit Amy next to me.

"Can I go?" She asks. "Go on.. remember what I told you" I whisper. She smiles, nodding. I hide in the booth, watching as Amy runs over to her.

Meredith's pov:
"Mer" someone tugs on my dress. I look down. "Oh my god amelia" I smile, picking her up.

"Are you here with your mommy?" I ask. "Who's this?" My date, Mike, asks. "I'm mewedith's fwiend" amelia says. I smile, nodding.

"Who are you here with sweetheart?" I ask. "Myself" she says. "You're not here by yourself" I chuckle. She giggles.

She waves at Mike. He smiles at her. She glares at him, sticking her tongue out at him. She's here with derek, isn't she?

Amelia's pov:
I look up at meredith and see her looking around the room. Earlier, brother derek told me to tell meredith that he wasn't here with me. I remember.

"Where is your brother?" She asks. "He left" I say. "He left you here alone?" Merediths friend asks. "Yep.. with mermer" I hug her.

"Amelia, are you joking?" She puts her hands on my cheeks. I shake my head. She sighs.

Meredith's pov:
I can't believe derek would just leave his two year old sister here alone. I know he wanted to intrude on my date and normally I'd find it funny and amusing.

Although, I didn't think he was so immature to put his little sister in harm. She could've got lost or something by herself.

"Okay sweetheart, I'll take you home" I say. "Weally?" She asks. "Yes, I'm sorry Mike but she's my neighbors daughter.. I can't just-" I say. "No, it's okay" he smiles.

We end up paying half each for the meal. I grab my leftovers in a box and go our separate ways. I carry amelia outside.

"Amy! There you are!" Derek walks over, taking her. "Derek what the fuck" I say. "Fuck?" Amelia asks. My eyes widen.

"You just left your sister here?!" I exclaim, hitting his arm. "Oh, don't be silly.. I was inside watching her with you the whole time" he says.

"All to ruin my date?" I ask. "Oh, I saved you" he says. The date was going bad in all honesty. "You're an idiot" I say.

"You use your own sister-" I say. "Hey, you're the one teaching a two year old how to swear" he says. I glare at him. He grins.

"You're going to pay for this" I say. "I'll take any punishment I can get from you" he smirks. I close my eyes, shaking my head. He laughs. I giggle.

"Don't ever do that again" I say. "Yes master grey" he says, bowing down to me jokingly. I hit him. He grins.

"And you!" I turn to amelia. "I sowwy!" She hides her face in dereks chest. "You lied to me!" I pick her up. She giggles. "I weally sowwy.. dewek says I can get candy now" she says.

"You bribed her?" I glare at him. He grins. I giggle, rolling my eyes. I kiss her cheek. "I forgive you" I say. "Thankyou" he says. "Not you!" I glare at him. He laughs.

"Did you drive here?" I ask. He shakes his head. "Come on.. I'll give you kids a lift home" I grin. He glares at me as we walk to my car. I drive us all home.

"So? Did my plan work?" He asks as I walk them to their door. "No!" I say. He rolls his eyes, chuckling.

"Bye sweetheart" I kiss amelias head. "Bye honey" Derek says sarcastically. He takes my leftovers. I gasp. "For amelia" he says. I giggle. "Only for amy" I glare at him. He grins.

"Bye meredith" he smiles. "Goodbye derek" I smile. I walk away, going home. I wave at him before walking into my house.
