chapter 75

I run into Derek's house. I go to the kitchen. "Hey" he smiles. His family look at me. "I couldn't wait to tell you" I say.

"What?" He smiles. "You got an A!" I show him his paper. "Oh, cool" he says. "Derek.. this is exciting! This time last year, you were getting Ds.. your grades have improved so much since I became your teacher" I grin.

"Well all those extracurricular activities you got me doing" he smirks, passing me a cup of coffee. I hit him.

"Are you not excited?" I sigh. "Of course I am" he smiles. He puts his hands on my stomach and my back, leans in and kisses my cheek.

"Carolyn look" I say as she walks into the room. I pass her the test. "Wow, well done honey!" She says. He smiles. I take the test back.

"Well, I'm proud of you" I hug him. "Thanks" he says. I pull away. "I should go" I say. "I'll see you later?" He says. I nod.

He pinches my ass as I walk away. I turn back around and hit him. I giggle, running away as he chases me.

He closes the front door quickly. I giggle, leaning against it. He holds his arms against the door either side of me, trapping me.

"I'll let you go for a kiss" he grins. I peck his lips. "Is that it?" He says. "Hey!" I giggle, poking his stomach. I put my hands on his cheeks, kissing him properly.

The doorbell rings. We turn around and open the door. "Oh my god!" I slam the door shut. "What the hell are you doing?" He chuckles.

I open the door and push him away from me. "Mom?" I say. "I came to visit you.. your friend told me you'd be next door if you weren't home" she says. "What friend?" I ask. "Your work one.. I went there first" she says. Freaking cristina.

"So, is that your boyfriend?" She asks. "No" I say. I kick him. He walks away. "Come on mom, let's go-" I try to leave.

"Mom? Meredith, is this-" Carol walks over. "Oh no" I mumble. "I'm Carol, come in.. its lovely to meet you" she says. We all walk in. I introduce her to everyone. This is hell.

Derek walks in. I go over to him and pull him back out of the room. "You're not going in there" I say. "I wanna meet your mom" he says. "No" I say.

"My mother is evil.. she's going to hate you and be mean to you and- you're not meeting her" I say. He walks past me, into the living room. I whine, following him.

It's been an hour. She's been grilling me, leaving sly comments and just straight up annoying me for an hour. She's been very nice to derek though. That's shocking.

"Well I guess it's time to go now mom.. its been lovely seeing you-" I stand up. "Not so fast.. I'm staying with you" she stands up.

"Oh mom, that's not necessary" I say. "It is actually, I have an interview for work here in seattle tomorrow and I don't want to stay in a hotel" she says. "Okay, that's great.. I'll set up the spare room for you" I sigh.

"Bye guys" I say, putting on a smile. "Bye honey, bye Ellis.. it was nice meeting you" Carol says. "Bye" Derek says. We leave.

I close the door as I run back inside. "Hide me" I say. Carol laughs. "What are you doing?" Derek chuckles as I pull on his shirt. "Trying to climb inside you" I hide under his shirt.

"Meredith grey!" She yells. I whine, pulling away from him. "You have to come with me.. you have to" I pull him along. "Happy to" he grins at me.

We go next door with my mom. "So.. Eighteen is quite young compared to twenty four.. what are your plans for the future? Marriage? Kids?" She asks. "Yes to all of that" Derek says. I hit him.

"We haven't really talked about it" I say. "Oh, sure we have" Derek says. I glare at him. He smiles.

"Its late.. I'll show you to your room, mom" I say. We go upstairs. I make the bed for her quickly and we say goodnight.

I go downstairs. "I hate you so much" I sit next to him on the couch. He chuckles, wrapping his arm around me. He kisses me. I whine, hugging him.
