chapter 69

"Bye sweetheart, I love you" I peck his lips. "Have a good time.. I'll see you later, right?" He hugs me. "Of course.. your house tonight.. I need a new bed" I whisper.

"A new bed!? Why is that-" He asks very loudly on purpose. "Shut up!" I giggle, covering his mouth with my hand. He laughs.

He puts his hands on my cheeks, kissing me softly. "I love you.. bye" he opens matt's car door for me. I get in. Matt drives us to a restaurant.

I walk into Derek's house. "Hey! Did you have fun?" He smiles. I sit next to him on his bed. "He kissed me" I say. "What?" He stands up. "Derek" I stand up at the other side of the bed.

"Did you pull away?" He asks. "..yes" I say. "What the fuck! What the fuck was that.. you hesitated!" He says. "I just froze.. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry" I say.

"You kissed him back?" He asks. "No, I just let him kiss me.. but just because-" I say. "Because of what!?" He yells. "Because I was in shock! Please.. don't be angry sw-" I say. "Don't call me that right now!" He stops me.

"I- Why are you even telling me? You could've just said that you pulled away" he says. "I think.. a student from school saw me.. and took a picture" I look down.

He doesn't say anything. "I just didn't want you to get the wrong impression" I whisper. He sits on his bed.

"Derek?" I sit next to him. He's staring at the mattress infront of him. "say something please" I reach my hand up, slowly running my fingers through his curls.

"Just go.. I dont want to see you right now.. stay at your own house tonight" he says. "Honey-" I say. "Go now!" He looks at me. I look at him. He's blurry because of the tears welling up in my eyes.

"I'm sorry" I say tearfully. "I don't care" he looks into my eyes. I get up and leave.

"You okay?" Carolyn asks as I walk past her. I nod. "I'll see you tomorrow honey" she puts her hand on my arm. "Okay" I smile small. I leave.

Derek's pov:
The next day I get up, shower and get ready. I grab all of my stuff and go downstairs. My phone buzzes. I look at it.

Meredith: you want a ride to school?
Me: no

I leave and walk to school. I'm walking to the cafeteria when I bump into someone. I roll my eyes. Of course its her. "Sorry" she says. I help her pick up the papers she dropped.

"What are you even doing? Your classroom is that way" I say. "I was going to find you" she says. "Well you did.. bye" I walk away. "Derek" she walks after me.

"Please" she opens her classroom door, pulling me inside. I let her. She closes the door behind us. "He kissed me.. I didn't kiss him" she says. "You didn't stop him either though" I say. "I did!" She says. "After!" I exclaim.

"Is the only reason you pulled away because you realised a student took a picture of you?" I ask. "No! I pulled away because I don't love him, I love you" she holds my hands. I scoff.

"I can't be bothered with this today.. I got no sleep last night.. I just- can you just leave me alone today?" I pull my hands away. "But.. are we going to be okay?" She asks. "No" I say. She frowns. "Maybe.. I dont know!" I sigh.

"I thought that I could trust you.. I'm so stupid" I say. "You can trust me!" She says. I roll my eyes. I leave the room.

I stop in the middle of the hallway, thinking. I can't be bothered with this. I leave the school and walk home. I go up to my room, climb under my covers and watch tv.
