It was late afternoon the next day. I received word that A-Yao had come to visit me. So I said to let him in. He soon arrived at The Hanshi. He had a bloody lip, and blood dripping down his forehead.
"A-Yao, what happened?" I asked helping him sit down. I then grabbed a couple medical supplies to tend to his wounds.
"My father happened," he told me, "he told me he had an arrangement for a marriage for me but I told him I wanted to think about it. He told me I have no choice. I told him I should. He then shoved me down the steps and said that was my choice. He said he can give me another shove or I will take the arrangement."
"Why don't you want to marry? Do you know the girl?" I asked.
"I know her a little bit, and I am still young. I think my brother can just marry first," he said and sucked air through his teeth when I cleaned the wound on his forehead.
"Sorry, try to bear with it, I'm almost done," I said.
"He then got angry at me because he hasn't gotten answers yet. He has Wens at the Qiongqi Path. Now he wants answers on getting Wei Wuxian to listen to him," A-Yao complained.
"Why?" I asked, "what is going on in Qiongqi and what does he want from Wei Wuxian?"
"He wants his amulet. Saying it's too dangerous of a tool to be in the hands of someone so young and mischievous. I heard him talking to one of his men, he wants the amulet to test on the remaining Wens," he said.
"What?" I asked, "the remaining Wens, did they even take part in the war?"
"Not sure," he said, "all I know is he wants to experiment on them. Will you try speaking to Wei Wuxian? Or maybe have Wangji try? The more I am under my father's wrath the more I may take a shove down those stairs."
"I'll see what I can do," I told him.
"I'm sorry to just come here and pour all this out...I just don't know who to go to. Da-Ge is still upset with me," he said.
"Is there a reason why?" I asked.
"I don't know his reason," he answered.
"Alright, I will speak with Da-Ge as well," I told him, "you can relax here for a little while if you need to."
"Thank you, but I do have to go in a little while. My father has a night hunt and he wants me to help him plan," he said.
"Let me know if you need a hand," I told him.
"I will," he said.
A-Yao stayed for a little while longer before heading out. Once he left, I had a couple of disciples secretly look into Qiongqi. I want to know what is happening over there. I am also going to warn A'Xian to keep that amulet close as I now know some of Jin Guangshan's motives.
"Zewu Jun?" I heard some say after a knock came.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Your brother is asking for you. He is at the infirmary with Young Master Wei," the disciple told me.
My eyes widened. I then left for the infirmary as fast as I could. When I got there, Wangji was trying to keep A'Xian calm.
"Wangji? What is going on?" I asked.
"He is in too much pain," Wangji answered slightly panicked, "he can't breathe properly due to the pain. The healer said that he needed some people to seal his spiritual container. It will ease his pain but it uses a lot of energy from those who seal it. I had someone get Shufu."
That was so much Wangji has ever said to me at once. I wished it was under different circumstances but I was proud, "okay, I will help."
"Xichen, Wangji?" Uncle asked to enter.
I explained what Wangji had explained to me. The three of us and the healer worked together to seal his container. Once it was sealed Wei Wuxian passed out from exhaustion. I then explained to them what I found out about his development with his core.
"So if his dantian heals properly, he can cultivate again?" Uncle asked.
I nodded. The healer checked my theory and confirmed it, "for the dantian to heal, his container has to be closed for the remainder of his healing. It cuts off his access to spiritual energy but it is the faster way to heal him. It could take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. Though the dantian isn't too damaged, it can heal. Taking the tonics we have been giving him and letting him use the cold spring will help him greatly. Because his container is closed, he can now only sit in the spring for no longer than fifteen minutes for the time being. It could be dangerous as he doesn't have the spiritual energy to help him much to keep the cold down."
"Very well, can transferring energy to him help?" I asked.
"Only if you are compatible," the healer said, "though, since you three helped close his container, you are all able to do so. Including me. I say one session a day or two sessions a week with sending spiritual energy to him if you want to give it a try. We can alternate on who goes when."
We all agreed to it, "Shufu, Wangji, I gained some information not long ago as well," I said after the healer left.
Uncle placed a privacy barrier in the room, "go ahead."
I explained to them everything that happened when A-Yao visited. Telling me his father's motives for the amulet and the experiments on the Wens potentially at Qiongqi. I told them I have a couple disciples discreetly looking into Qiongqi.
"A'Xian did voice his concerns about A-Yao. After meeting with him today. I do have some suspicions. The wounds were real but the reasons he got them seemed...off. He wanted me to talk to Wuxian myself or get Wangji to convince Wuxian to speak to Jin Guangshan. I said I would try but we all know that Wei Wuxian isn't dumb and will not give in to Jin Guangshan," I explained.
"No," Uncle said, "thank you for bringing us this information. I will help look into Qiongqi. I want you to help Wei Wuxian with Wangji as best you can...I know you are busy running the sect but I know you care for the boy."
I nodded, "of course," I said and watched uncle leave. I then looked at Wangji. He was glaring at me, "I care for A'Xian like he is my brother, nothing more."
Wangji nodded.
"He is all yours, Didi," I told him.
"Wei Ying, Mine," he said firmly.
I nodded, "yours."
