~*Lan Xichen's POV*~

My date with Wen Qing was still set. It was about mid-afternoon when I went to meet with her at her place. As I arrived, I saw Wen Ning leaving with A'Yuan.

"Hello A'Ning, Hello A'Yuan," I greeted.

"Hello, Zewu Jun," Wen Ning greeted.

"You can call me Xichen," I told him, "no need to be formal with me."

"Okay," he said, "I am taking A'Yuan to meet Wei Gongzi and Lan Er Gongzi."

"I hope you two have a nice time," I told them.

Wen Ning nodded and left with A'Yuan. I realize I still need to have some one on one time with Wen Ning. He is a shy young boy, so I imagine he just needs some patience. I am actually hoping he could make friends with Wangji and Wuxian as well.

When I was about to knock on the door for Wen Qing, the door opened. She was there, and I think my heart skipped a couple beats. She was breathtaking. Normally should would be in red robes but now she is taking a liking to Gusu like robes. She was wearing white robes with blue accents. She looked stunning.

"Lan Xichen," she greeted with a bow.

I smiled at her, "hello Wen Qing, you look lovely," I told her.

"Thank you," she said.

"Ready to head out?" I asked.

She nodded. She then shut the door behind here and then we walked to town. It was nice to see her out for a change. She and her family are cooped up in Cloud Recesses due to the prejudice the Wens are still going through. It is slowly fading away but not fast enough. I am going to have to protect her while we were out, and I will protect her.

She and I walked through town, passing by vendors and stalls. We talked about various things like her love for healing and medicine, and her bond with her Didi. I share my thoughts about it and my experience with my bond with Wangji and how much it had changed since A'Xian had been here.

As we were walking, I saw her look at a stall with hair pins and sticks. She looked at one specifically, it was dark wood hair stick that was carved delicately by hand with a flower at the end and a cool twist like design to it. She was about to move on when I asked the vendor to wrap it up for us. She didn't expect me to do such a thing but I did.

"This is yours," I said handing it to her.

"Thank you," she said, "you didn't have to you know."

"But I did," I told her, "what ever you want, I will get for you. My treat. As well as it is my treat for dinner."

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"I am," I said, "let me spoil you. When has anyone done that for you?"

She just shook her head. So it was obvious she didn't have such an experience before. I smiled at her, "I am happy to be here with you and let you have a nice time. I like you, and I want to see you happy and carefree. I know it's a bit difficult given the situation with Wens but I promise you, you and your family will be safe. I will not let anyone harm your people. They belong in Cloud Recesses now, and they are officially welcomed by us. We are going to protect you. I will protect you."

She nodded and looked a bit surprised. It was like she could feel more comfortable, relaxed, and at ease. I took her hand and I led her to a more secluded spot in town and sat her down at a nearby table by a restaurant. They served both inside and outside tables. I sat beside her and hugged her so she could let out her grievances. I heard her crying a little bit, like she was relieved to hear what I said.

"It will be alright," I told her, "I am here."

"Thank you so much," she said hugging me in return.

"You're welcome," I said in return.

Once she settled down, we ordered something to eat while we were here. I had to admit, this time out with her, let me know just exactly how I felt about her. I was falling in love with her. What isn't to love about her? She values her family, her little brother, and she cares about each of the people she treats. She doesn't just treat the quantity of people just to treat them. She is more about quality. She values each life like a proper healer should. She was special, and I wanted to make sure she knew that all the time.

Just before we reached the gates to Cloud Recesses, we stopped not far off. She gave me a questionable look but I responded by pulling her into another hug. This time, placing a kiss on her forehead. She hugged me back but looked up at me. I just reacted on instinct and kissed her. Her lips were soft and gentle. The world seemed to have stopped around us as I completely forgot anything else but us, existed at that moment. I didn't let the kiss linger or last too long, so after a good moment, I pulled away.

"Wen Qing, will you let me court you?" I asked her.

"I will," she answered after a moment of silence.

I smiled and kissed her once more before taking her back to her home inside Cloud Recesses. After such an amazing day, I felt amazing. I wanted to go see how things were with Wangji and Wuxian but I decided wait until morning. It was started to get late, so I just went back to the Hanshi.
