"Hanguang Jun, Yueguang Jun," Sect Leader Nie Mingjue greeted, "good to see you both again."

"It is good to see you as well, Chifeng Zun. Though, wish it was under better circumstances," Wuxian greeted him in return while Wangji just bowed to him as a polite greeting.

"Well, maybe someday we can have that," Chifeng Zun stated.

"The Yunmeng Jiang Sect has arrived," a Nie disciple stated.

Wuxian smiled and turned to see Jiang Cheng enter the main hall, "Jiang Cheng," Wuxian said happily, "been a while."

"Who's fault is that?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"Lan Zhan and I have only been back to Gusu for a month or so after seeing my grandmother," Wuxian told him, "did not do it on purpose."

"Come visit more often then," Jiang Cheng said.

"Lan Zhan and I wanted to tell you we were planning to after the conference here," Wuxian said.

"Not that I do not mind you coming but why do I feel like it is for a different reason than to just visit?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"New barriers for Lotus Pier. With a war potentially happening soon, I thought it might be something you wouldn't mind me doing," Wuxian explained.

"Of course," Jiang Cheng said, "come by anytime you want."

Wuxian nodded, "we are seated beside you again. Happy conference time."

Wuxian gave Jiang Cheng a quick hug before walking with Wangji to their designated seats. For Wuxian, it felt nice to have Wangji and Jiang Cheng so close by. Ever since he came clean to Jiang Cheng, the two have been more like brothers than before the golden core was ever transferred. It made Wuxian happy to know that he still has his sworn siblings by his side. Even going as far as making him officially adopted into the sect as Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli's brother.

Once the sects had all settled into their seats, the meeting began. Wei Wuxian's head began to spin even before the first sentence was said. He knows this war is not going to be as easy as it may seem. The war with the Wen Sect was already difficult, but now, Meng Yao has three supporting sects on his side. Though the four main sects, Lan, Jiang, Jin, and Nie were larger than the four rivaled sects, there will always be complications to arise.

"What is it that Meng Yao is hoping to gain anyway?" Jin Zixuan asked.

"Revenge on those who wrong him by calling him a son of a whore, made him feel weak and powerless, and more than likely, he wants more power than any sect could ever imagine having," Nie Mingjue stated out his opinion.

"One of the reasons is the Yin Hu Fu, which was destroyed. The other is Wei Wuxian himself," Another Jin Sect disciple spoke, "why not just hand Wei Wuxian over to Meng Yao to see what he wants with him? It's one person over several sects."

"Say something like that again," Jiang Cheng warned. He managed to get that warning out before Wangji could, "Wei Wuxian is my Shixiong. He has contributed more of his time to the sunshot campaign than any of you combined. If any of you even think about trying to get to my brother, you have to go through me and the entire Jiang Sect."

"As my Didi's older brother, I agree with Sect Leader Jiang. Wei Wuxian is my brother's Fiancé. You are making suggestions that could start a whole new mess of things," Xichen stated.

"Meng Yao wanted his Yin Hu Fu, why not just hand it to him instead then?" The Jin disciple asked.

Wuxian rolled his eyes and sighed, "the Yin Hu Fu was a dangerous tool. As someone who used it, the amulet was not a pleasureful experience. Always feeling cold, always feeling like you could rip trees out of the ground with your bare hands, and always hearing the souls of the dead screaming and crying out of fear, agony, and hatred. So in the wrong hands, that amulet would cause a calamity that no one could stop. That is why I destroyed it. I paid the price for using resentful energy and almost died for it. It has a life of its own and it makes you want to do things under your worst impulses. At the time of me using it, I had no choice. Others have a choice to stay away from that evil energy, and I would highly recommend staying away."

"Why did you have no choice?" Nie Huaisang asked. Nie Mingjue, knowing Wuxian's secret, scowled at his brother for asking such a risky question.

Wei Wuxian looked at Jiang Cheng. Jiang Cheng nodded at him and stood, "if it is alright for me to share why, Shixiong, I will. A few people know of this truth so everything I say is valid."

Wei Wuxian nodded, "I am cultivating again, so I am okay with you sharing this information if you are comfortable with it."

Jiang Cheng nodded and walked to the center of the room, "a long time ago, shortly after Lotus Pier was attacked by the Wens, my sister, brother and I were the only three who survived. Our sister got sick with a fever and Wei Wuxian went to go get medicine for her. I stepped out for a moment and saw Wen soldiers approaching him. I distracted them so Wuxian could get medicine for our sister..."

"Wait...you what?" Wuxian asked, "you were the person they chased after?"

Jiang Cheng looked at his brother, "I meant to tell you, I just did not know how...I am sorry."

Wuxian went over to Jiang Cheng, "do not apologize. You saved me, and I saved you," Wuxian said, pulling him into a hug.

"Let's finish explaining this, okay," Jiang Cheng said, pulling out of the hug.

"Okay," Wuxian said with a nod.
