Wei Wuxian kept quiet throughout most of the conference meeting the following day. The sects were getting nowhere with ideas on getting to Meng Yao. Wei Wuxian started to wonder if he really had no choice. It was brought up and he opposed it, but what if he went to Meng Yao.

What would that accomplish?

Wuxian knew it was a bad idea, but it would also cause Wangji to be furious with him if he decided to go along with that plan. Wei Wuxian knew it was not a solid one. It would put only him in danger and delay Meng Yao temporarily. It wasn't just Wei Wuxian that Meng Yao needed. He wants power, and he knows that Wei Wuxian has the knowledge to help him get it. Therefore, Wei Wuxian would not and could not, sacrifice his life. Others would die after him eventually anyway so why should he use his life to delay others?

"I know we are all wanting to get to Meng Yao, but there are puppets and corpses in every region now," Xichen stated, "I think we should try to take care of them. We have no way of getting to Meng Yao unless we risk other lives. Meng Yao is smart and he will only make delays."

"We could target the smaller sects first," Lan Yulong suggested, one of Lan Xichen's promising disciples, "if we go for Moling Su, Yue Yang, and the Yao sect, it could decrease Meng Yao's support. It is not necessarily a good thought but it is something we could do."

"It is a thought," Sect Leader Nie said, "The Lan sect is right near the Moling Su Sect and the Jiang Sect is near Yue Yang."

"The Yao sect is near Koi Tower, right?" Jiang Cheng asked, "so the Nie Sect, if they want, can decide which of the three to help out. I think the Yao Sect and Moling Su Sect are bigger than Yue Yang. So dividing into groups would be the best possible option."

"If we decided to strike each sect on the same day, it would be difficult for them to call for help," Jin Zixuan explained.

"Very well, how about we make plans for attach, in two weeks time. We strike two weeks from today. It should be enough time to get disciples prepared and get your individual sects to make plans. The Nie Sect will divide into three groups and meet three days before the day of attack. I will be meeting with the Lan Sect to help with Moling. They are a bigger clan and know the Lan Sect's cultivation methods. They may need a little bit more help," Nie Mingjue explained.

"Very well," Xichen agreed.

The meeting had barely finished when Wei Wuxian decided to just get up and walk out. It was like the Wen Sect all over again. The Wen Sect ambushed many bigger sects and now they were planning to ambush sects themselves. It was not really ideal but it is the best we can do. Wei Wuxian wished there was a way to do this without risking casualties, but he knew that it was just wishful thinking. Wei Wuxian entered his room and leaned back against the wall.

Wei Wuxian started seeing flashes of his past and visions of his life when he was using resentful energy. His breathing began to get heavy and his chest began to hurt a little. He collapsed to his knees as his mind went completely numb. This was all too soon for him. His memories of his past, killing Wens in such terrible ways, and torturing them until he felt it was enough. Wei Wuxian, could not breathe. He felt like he was suffocating and his chest was being poked with thousands of needles.

"Wei Ying, are you here?" Wangji asked as he entered the room. Wei Wuxian sobbed and tried to calm down his breathing. Wangji knelt down in front of him and held onto his face, "hey, I am right here."

"La-Lan.....Zha..." Wei Wuxian tried to get out but all he could do was shake his head.

"Wangji, he is having a panic attack," Xichen said entering the room with Wen Qing.

Remembering now he calmed him down before, Wangji pulled Wei Wuxian in and kissed him. The sudden touch of Wangji's lips on Wuxian immediately had him seeing stars. He closed his eyes as he could feel Wangji sending some energy to him to calm him down. Wen Qing was a bit stunned at the sight. Xichen placed a privacy barrier around the room and a lock talisman on the door as he explained to her what was happening. Wen Qing now wanted to know more about fated soulmates.

Wangji slowly pulled his lips away and maneuvered Wuxian to his lap. He then had Wuxian rest against him as he finally was able to breathe properly again. Wuxian put his face into Wangji's neck as his arms snaked under Wangji's and held onto him tightly.

"Lan Zhan," Wuxian Whispered, "I was seeing flashbacks."

"Post trauma," Wen Qing pointed out, "it is bound to happen as he suffered a lot during the last war."

"Lan Zhan, please help me," Wei Wuxian begged. Wuxian began to feel small and vulnerable again, "I do not want to keep seeing these things."

"I know," Wangji said, "I am here. Just focus on me."

Wangji began to hum the melody from the cave into Wuxian's ear. Wuxian tried to snuggle closer to Wangji but he was already as close as he could possibly be. Wangji got up with Wuxian in his arms and sat in the bed, cradling Wuxian again as he hummed to him and comforted him. Wei Wuxian began to feel sleepy after having a breakdown. He ended up falling asleep there on Wangji's lap, but Wangji did not mind.
