I went to the infirmary to check on the group of Wen's that had been saved from Qiongqi path. I was speaking to a couple healers about how the people were. Some were bruised and beaten, cut and had some broken bones. All of them were malnourished so I told the healers to give them enough food for them to get back their health. I was thinking about visiting Wen Qing while I was here. She might be able to get me some insight on how she transferred the golden core from A'Xian to Jiang Wanyin.

Before I knocked on her door, I felt a small tug on my robes. It was the small toddler that was with the group. He was the only child in the group as well, so he must be bored and lonely.

I knelt down to him, "hi, my name is Zewu Jun, can you tell me yours?" I asked him kindly.

"Wen Yuan, A'Yuan," he answered, "are you a god?"

I smiled a bit, "no, but I am what is called a cultivator. I train so I can help people," I told him.

"You look pretty like one," he said, "have you seen my Aunt Qing?"

"I was just going to meet with her," I told him, "Want to come?"

He nodded. I then stood and knocked on the door. Wen Qing answered the door. She didn't look too bad despite being in a camp.

"Zewu Jun, thank you for helping my family," Wen Qing answered with a bow.

"Of course," I told her, "you all are not like Wen Ruohan. I know you all are innocent and we here at Gusu, wish to help you."

"Thank you," she said.

"This young one here was looking for you," I told her.

She carefully picked him up, "he is my nephew. His parents died when my village got ambushed. My Didi and I have been trying to care for him, along with Grandma Wen."

"Wei Wuxian is actually here in Cloud Recesses recovering and I'm sure A'Yuan can keep him company if he wants to," I told her.

"What happened to Wei Wuxian?" She asked worried.

"I was actually wondering if you wouldn't mind sitting down with me and I can tell you everything," I told her.

"Sure, let me get A'Yuan to his grandmother first," she said.

I nodded and waited for her inside the room. Wen Ning was sitting there at the table brewing medicine, from what it looks like.

"Hello, Young Master Wen," I greeted, making him jump a bit. He was about to stand up but I stopped him, "no need to get up."

"I-it's nice to s-see you, Zewu Jun," he greeted. I always remembered he was a bit of a shy person and had a slight stutter as he spoke.

"I am happy to see you are doing alright," I said to him, "what are you doing?"

"My JieJie was the b-best healer in Qishan and our v-village. She knows w-what medicine to have an-and to b-brew if it i-is needed. She offered to help here at t-the infirmary. I j-j-just asssist her when she needs me."

"Well I am grateful for her help. I hope she is taking care of herself as well," I said.

"She is," he said.

Soon enough Wen Qing had returned, "Zewu Jun," she greeted me again.

She sat down at the table across from me, "so, Wei Wuxian has come clean to Wangji, my uncle, and me about his..golden core."

"Did he tell his brother?" She asked.

"No, he refuses to tell him...I kind of understand why as well," I told her.

She nodded, "you said he was recovering."

"Wei Wuxian has been through a huge ordeal. After his core was removed, he spent several days down the mountain waiting for Jiang Wanyin. He went into a tea house and it was filled with Wen Chao's men. He was thrown around, beaten, stepped on, and tortured. He has so many broken bones in his body that we can't even tell if there are any that are not. Wen Chao then decided to have some fun and threw him into the burial mounds from high up in the sky.

"Wei Wuxian said the resentful energy has 'welcomed him,' so to speak. It kept him from having such a hard impact on the ground. He learned to control it within three months, created a Dizi and the yin Hu Fu to help him. After the sunshot campaign, I met up with him and he came clean.

"After bringing him here, we had a healer check him over, like I said, his bones are broken and his body is beaten up. I did find something that may you can check if you wanted to. Our healer confirmed it but maybe you have some more insight as you performed the surgery. Even though his dantian is somewhat damaged, if it is properly recovered, I felt that the spiritual vein used to connect to and create the core is just blocked. So he could have a chance to cultivate a new one. That's why I came to you to see if you can confirm our theories. Our sect has proper techniques on helping build a core we just need to know how long he needs to rest. His container is closed and his spiritual energy is sealed. So the pain from his dantian has lessened. The only pain he has now, is the pain from him healing his broken bones...it is a lot take in..."

"No, I got it all...and if you would allow me, and him to allow me, I would be happy to help. Since being around him, I've become quite fond of him...as a brother, so to say. He has that trait on him that, even though he could annoy you so much, you still love him," she said.

"Tell me about it," I told her, "if you are able, I can bring you to see him, he is just resting right now...though I must warn you...he and Wangji are now courting."

"It's about damn time!" She said loudly, "while trying to find a way to help Jiang Wanyin, all he could think about is if there was something he could find here and wished he could ask Wangji about it. He talked about him all the time...I was like...he better do something about this crush soon before I smack him."

I laughed, "you noticed too?"

"I think everyone did before they did," she said standing, "I am willing to go see him."

"Alright," I said.

Wen Qing had Wen Ning stay here at the infirmary in case he was needed to go get her. I told him where he could look for us before I led Wen Qing to the Jingshi.
