~*Author's POV*~

Xichen asked Wen Qing if she could sit with Wuxian for a while so he could go speak with his brother. Wen Qing was all for it. She had Wen Ning and A'Yuan with her so when he woke, A'Yuan can help cheer him up. A'Yuan really liked Wuxian, and Wen Qing knew how much Wuxian loved kids. So it was a win win.

After giving Wen Qing a quick kiss on the lips, he left the Hanshi. He knew his brother would be in the library. If not there, he knew some places he would go. Luckily, Xichen's intuition was correct and Wangji was at the library as he suspected. Plus, Wuxian told him that was where Wangji would have been.

"Wangji," Xichen said calmly as he entered the library.

"Brother," Wangji said in a calming response as well.

"I was wondering if you and I could talk?" Xichen asked.

"Mnn," Wangji nodded.

Xichen knelt down at the desk across from him, "A'Xian came to me earlier today," he said, "he is worried about you."

"He does not need to be. I am fine," Wangji insisted.

"Wangji, you know that I know you are a terrible liar around me," Xichen said, "plus, A'Xian came to me feeling guilty that he knows what potentially upset you but he cannot help you because you have distanced yourself from him."

"I did not intend to seem that way," Wangji told him.

"You know if anyone around Wuxian is upset and he knows that he is part of the responsibility of that person being upset...you know what he does," Xichen said, "I need you to talk. Either to me or him. You are worrying him. He feels terrible about this, you need to know that."

Wangji started to let it sink in his mind. He has been around Wuxian long enough to know that he will break badly if he feels guilty. It came to Wangji that it was not his intention to make him feel that way.

"I am sorry, Huan-Ge," Wangji said putting his head down for a moment before looking back up at his brother. Tears slowly started to build up in his eyes and spilled over as he explained why he feeling distant, "it is just...seeing all of Wei Ying's life play out...I knew it was not going to be pleasant but I did not realize how badly it would hit me. Knowing that Wei Ying was sick in Xuanwu's cave and I just left him when we got out...I left him, Ge. He went home, still sick, endured several severe hits from Zidian, and then seeing the guilt in his eyes when he saw the death inside Lotus Pier after the massacre. I. left. him."

"You felt that you had duties for your own family and sect," Xichen explained, "you could not have known something like that would have happened. Everything you saw, is in the past, and he survived it all. Now you both are immortal and soulmates. You both need each other right now to get through this. A'Xian is always suffering from some sort of post trauma, but you seeing it all...you need to know that you are his everything right now, and you always will be."

"I know," Wangji said, "why do I feel guilty though? I feel like I could have done something back then."

"Wangji, a war had just started. No one could tell what was to happen," Xichen explained, "now we are still technically in a war, but with Meng Yao. He has become a threat now that he has a sect of his own. It will be more challenging to get him into custody and charge him for his crimes."

"I know," Wangji nodded, then asked, "what should I do?"

"What you should do, is talk to your fiancé," Xichen told him.
