Chapter 37

~*Wei Wuxian's POV*~

"Suibian!" I said happily holding the sword in my hand, "we are finally together again."

I felt the familiar vibration from the sword. Suibian had reacted to me. Reacted happily to be in my services once more. Chenqing was cleansed last night. So, I now had Chenqing and Suibian with me but a part of me was more in favor to Suibian right now. I haven't carried a sword in a long time so now that I am again, I was thrilled.

"Ugh, Lan Zhan?" I asked just outside the gates of Cloud Recesses.

"What is it?" He replied.

"Even though I can potentially fly now, I still get a bit scared of flying on my own...could I..." I couldn't get myself to ask so I just looked down at the ground.

"Would you like to ride with me?" Lan Zhan asked.

I looked up at him, "really?" I asked happily.

"It's either me or Xiongzhang, and I'd rather carry you," he said.

I giggled, "he flew me here from Yunmeng," I told him.

"I know," Lan Zhan said.

"You two coming?" Xichen-Ge asked.

"Yes, I was just asking Lan Zhan if I can fly with him," I said.

He smirked, "of course you did."

"Do you want me to go get Wen Qing? See if she wants to come?" I teased.

"A'Xian!" Xichen-Ge warned.

I laughed and wrapped my arms around Lan Zhan's waist, "you have to go through him first," I said.

Lan Zhan smiled down at me, "looks like I am in Wei Ying's favor today."

"What happened to our brotherly bond, A'Xian?" Xichen-Ge asked.

"It's still here," I said, "I promise."

Xichen-Ge smiled at me, "alright, let's go."

Before Lan Zhan and I took off, I placed a kiss on his jaw. I saw his ears turn red but I decided not to tease him as he was the one flying. I trusted Lan Zhan, I just didn't want to distract him. Lan Zhan actually responded by placing a soft kiss on my lips. I smiled and rested my head on his chest as we took off on Bichen.

"Are you okay with others seeing us like this?" I asked him.

"I am," he said, "are you?"

"I am, I just wondered," I said, "I didn't know if you were okay with it. I know others look down on me a lot."

"They will have to go through me if they want to harm you," Lan Zhan threatened, "will you sit with us or the Jiang Sect?"

"I'm technically still the head disciple unless Jiang Cheng changed that while I was away. And we haven't discussed the engagement idea yet," I answered.

"Engagement?" Lan Zhan asked.

I looked at Xichen-Ge, "you did not talk to him about that yet?"

"What?" Xichen-Ge questioned.

"The engagement proposal," I answered.

"Oh...no I didn't," he said.

I sighed, then turned to look at Lan Zhan again, "Xichen-Ge suggested proposing an engagement between you and me. It would give me a reason to stay at Cloud Recesses. Otherwise, Jiang Cheng is expecting me back soon. And I am not sure I want to go back...and I...want to marry you someday...even though we decided to take things slow."
