Chapter 61

Lan Zhan and I received an okay from Jiang Cheng, that we can come and visit for a few days. The message we sent told him we were wanting to say hello, but we were looking for someone as well. That person just happens to pass by every now and again. Jiang Cheng said he'd help me find them if we needed it.

Xichen-Ge walked us to the gate on our way out, "you two travel safe and come back safely as well," he told us.

"We will," I assured him, "it's an important trip, otherwise I'd be a bit more mischievous."

"At least I can get away from your teasing for a while," Xichen-Ge said.

"Awe, Xichen-Ge, I know you will miss me. It will be too quiet without me here," I told him.

"A few days of quiet sounds nice," he joked.

"Even if I somehow managed to control these new abilities of mine, I am tempted to either flood or burnt the Hanshi," I threatened, "if you keep taunting me."

"What?" He asked, "you can tease me all you want but when I tease you, you threaten my home?"

I laughed, "Xichen-Ge, I am going to miss you," I then hugged him.

"You're lucky I like you," he said hugging me back.

I pulled out from the hug, "take care of Cloud Recesses," I told him, "keep the Wens safe."

"I will," he said, "I will see you both again soon."

"Will send you a butterfly from time to time," Lan Zhan told him.

"Alright," Xichen-Ge agreed.

With that, Lan Zhan and I made our way down the mountain, "Lan Zhan, if we fly...can I ride with you?"

He smiled at me, "Wei Ying can always ride with me," he said pulling me close to him and hopped on Bichen.

I squealed by the quick action but immediately wrapped my arms around his waist, "I love you," I said as a thank you.

"I love Wei Ying too," he said and we took off.

I'm sure someday, I will lose my fear of flying on my own but for now, I wanted to be beside Lan Zhan. He made me feel safe and calm while flying. The flight from Gusu to Yunmeng was only an hour or two. When we reached the lotus docks, we landed.

"Remember when I tried to convince you to come visit Lotus Pier with me?" I asked, "you said you were not interested."

"I am now," he said.

"Do you like lotus seeds?" I asked.

"Never tried one," he told me.

"We will have to change that," I said, "I was told you like sweets. Most seeds are sweet, but every now and then you find a very bitter one. They can make good wine...but since you don't drink alcohol, there is a nonalcoholic version. I invented it myself and everyone loves it here. Shijie would use the lotus roots for her Lotus Root and Pork Rib soup, which is my favorite that she ever made. She was even kind enough to give Xichen-Ge the recipe incase I wanted some back in Gusu. You would have to ask him for the recipe if you ever want to try to make it."

Lan Zhan just let me talk. He seemed all too intrigued by what I was rambling about. He was content with listening and nodding and replying with 'Mnns,' every now and then. We soon reached the gates of Lotus Pier and I was immediately greeted.

"Shixiong!" A guard at the gate bowed, "Sect Leader Jiang is expecting you in the main throne room."

"Thank you Shidi," I said as he let Lan Zhan and me inside.

"You have been officially adopted into the sect, if I remember correctly," Lan Zhan told me.

"Yes," I confirmed, "the head disciple position is gone to someone else, but Jiang Cheng and Shijie have always seen me as a brother. They wanted to make sure that from now on, I will be respected and no longer called a son of a servant."

"If anyone calls you that, I will take an arm," Lan Zhan threatened, "they dare not disrespect my Yueguang Jun."

I laughed, "what is with your and taking limbs?" I asked.

"It is fun it immobilize your enemy when fighting," he told me.

"Wow, remind me to never get on your bad side," I told him.

"Wei Ying will never be," he assured me.

I smiled as we walked inside the throne room, "A'Xian!" Shijie called out.

"Shijie!" I greeted as we hugged, "did you miss me?"

"Of course I did," she said and pulled away from the hug, "it is good to see you again Hanguang Jun."

"You can call me Wangji," Lan Zhan told her politely.

"If I can all you Wangji, then you can call me Shijie," she said.

"Jiang Cheng," I said happily, "you look good."

"Thank you, so do you," he said.

"So, I want to warn you, I am trying to learn to control it but my cultivation level is high. I am now gaining Elemental Cultivation which runs in my mother's side of the family. I promise to try and not flood Lotus Pier or burn something down while I am here," I told them.

"You can cultivate elements?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"So far, it is not controlled well. It acts out when my emotions are triggered just right. Water, Air, and Fire and already made themselves known. Earth had yet to make an appearance," I explained.

"Very well," Jiang Cheng said, "who are you looking for? You mentioned the person comes to Yunmeng every now and then."

"Lan Zhan and I reached out to my Mother's spirit using Inquiry. She told me Baoshan comes to Yunmeng sometimes to look for me. I guess she has been trying to find me for a long time. I don't know what she looks like, but if there is a rogue cultivator or woman that passes through every once in a while, it may be here. She visits here, Yiling and a few other places. Yiling because I was on the streets there for a time before coming here," I explained, "We are looking for her to see if she can help me with my new cultivation."

"We can have some disciples be on the lookout for any female cultivators that pass through. I can send something to smaller clans through Yunmeng to be on the look. I will say not to engage or attack her. She is a friend," Jiang Cheng told me.

"Thank you," I said, "in the meantime, Lan Zhan and I are here to visit for a few days."

"I'm glad," Shijie said, "we still have your room set for you whenever you come by. You two can go settle in if you like."

I nodded, "thanks, we will go do that as I show Lan Zhan around...can I visit the ancestral hall?"

"Of course, Wangji is welcome to as well, as he will be family someday," Jiang Cheng said.

"Thanks," I said and turned to Lan Zhan, "let's go take care of our things and if you want, I can show you around either on the way or after."

"How about both?" Lan Zhan suggested.

"Sure," I said.

"By the way, it is still nice to see you carrying your sword again...dare I ask to spar later?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"You bet, I got to see if you are keeping up Sect Leader Jiang," I poked, "I also expect to say hello to Luo MeiZhen at some point too."

"She is here somewhere," Shijie informed.

I nodded, "see you both for dinner later?"

"Yes, you two go get settled in," Shijie said.

I then led Lan Zhan through some parts of Lotus Pier and to where my room was located.
