It's been a while since Wangji and Wuxian had left. It has been a lot quieter since then too. I never expected the entirety of Cloud Recesses to chance with those two away. Especially the liveliness of Wuxian that everyone had grown so fond of. Even Uncle had been curious as to how the boys have been.
Speaking of, I did tell Uncle of how much close Wen Qing and I have been. He thought maybe it was time to consider a marriage between us. I brought it up to her, with a gift for her as well. She took the gift and accepted the proposal. Since she was to marry me, no one would dare try to harm her or her people. As she will be First Madam Lan. I ended up giving her a hair pin with red flowers on it.

So, since my brother has been away, I gained a fiancée.
The news of Meng Yao had surfaced a bit. He had hid inside abandoned Scorching Sun Palace. With Xue Yang as his head disciple, it seems we have a new Wen Sect. They don't have the Yin Hu Fu because it was destroyed...but there was four pieces to the yin iron and only three were found. I think A'Xian mentioned there were five, as the sword he found with Xuanwu was a yin iron shard. Thus, there was still that missing piece. So it is possible that even though they don't have A'Xian's old amulet it doesn't me they can't try to make a new one.
I was reading the latest reports from Da-Ge about the whole situation. With the backing of the Moling Su Sect, and a couple other small sects who disliked A'Xian or believed in Meng Yao, decided to follow him. So there is to be another war coming. I sent to Da-Ge that we should keep watch for a few days to see if they make a move. As I was finishing up, a knock came to my door of the Hanshi.
"Come in," I said.
"Xichen-Ge, we have to let ourselves in?" I heard that familiar cheerful voice of A'Xian and smiled, "that's okay, we don't mind coming to you."
I stood up to see both him and Wangji had finally returned. As I gave them a hug, I could feel the strong energy radiating off of them.
"Sit, we can talk," I said, "how was your expedition?"
The two sat down, "good...we found Baoshan...or she found us...okay maybe a bit of both," A'Xian said.
"You actually found her?" I questioned, "how did everything go?"
"She was very open and honest with us," A'Xian answered, "she helped with my control but she helped Lan Zhan and me ascend first...and Lan Zhan has new abilities of his own."
I looked at Wangji, "really? Like what?"
"Baoshan called it, Cosmic Cultivation," Wangji explained, "spell casting, Animal imitation and shapeshifting, even speaking with them. Knowledge of the constellations as some of my abilities are stronger during different times of the year. I can do a lot of things, I just have to figure them all out. Baoshan taught us about control and we are doing well with it."
"That is good to hear, as recent events have changed it may be useful in the future," I told them.
"Why, what happened?" A'Xian asked.
"Jin Guangyao has taken residency in the Scorching Sun Palace in Qishan and restored it into a new sect. Qishan Meng Sect, I guess," I explained, "Xue Yang, is his second and head disciple. Moling Su Sect is an allied sect as well as bordering clans and sects around Qishan."
"A lot has happened since we have been gone I see," A'Xian said, "keep us informed and maybe we can think of something...although I sense a new war coming."
I nodded, "I do have one more thing to share with you both...I know you two have yet to decide on your wedding date, but Wen Qing and I are engaged," I told them.
"It's about time," A'Xian mumbled.
"I'm happy for you," Wangji said and elbowed A'Xian.
"Right, congratulations," A'Xian said, "Lan Zhan and I have yet to get an auspicious date."
"Have you met with the oracle in town?" I asked.
"We will tomorrow," Wangji said.
I nodded, "we will see what they say first and plan from there. Wen Qing and I have a little while to go see them as well."
"Do you want to marry first?" A'Xian asked.
"Not necessarily," I said, "you and Wangji have been engaged for a while now. I think it's time we settle you two."
"Thank you," Wangji said.
"So, anything else happen? What was the process of ascension?" I asked.
"We don't know what she used but she had us soak in a bath for several hours a day for several days. Once we gained a silver core, we had to meditate several times a day for four days to let our bodies adjust to the new energy," A'Xian answered.
"Interesting."
"Baoshan also went through my memories...Lan Zhan saw them too," A'Xian explained.
I looked at Wangji, "are you both okay?"
"I am but Lan Zhan, I think is still trying to get past it all," A'Xian said.
"What has you worried, Didi?" I asked.
"I do not think it is worry," he said, "I just watched everything he told us. His abuse by Yu Ziyuan, the massacre of Lotus Pier, and watching him go through the core transfer and falling into the mounds. It was a lot to take in."
"Hearing about it is one thing, but seeing it all play out, it can be hard to witness," I told them, "I hope you are alright...both of you."
"Like I said, I am, but I am cannot speak for Lan Zhan," A'Xian said.
"If you need to talk, I am here and so is A'Xian," I told him.
