Beyond Control

Chapter 75

I didn't want to open my eyes, as it would be a sign to start the day. I felt so comfortable just laying here. Laying on the man I loved, my head on his chest, my arms around his torso. I felt gentle fingers rubbing against my scalp, and I could just melt away from it. I didn't want to move, as I was so comfortable, and full of love. No one has made me feel the way Lan Zhan makes me feel. He makes me feel valued, loved, and safe.

Lan Zhan and I have been at Baoshan's for a month now. We were immortal, and we had practiced our new abilities. I finally learned how to control them. I can even manipulate the earth element now too. Lan Zhan's cultivation was unique. His was Cosmic Cultivation. It's a mix of things like, Animal Imitation and shapeshifting, speak with them. Spell casting, and Astrology and constellation empowerment. He would know everything there is about the stars, constellations, and life forces to go with it. Light and balance, and element manipulation. What a feat.

With me being able to cultivate, and him with the cosmic cultivation, we would be able to stop Meng Yao...with what ever he is planning. Lan Zhan and I are to head back to Gusu today. Baoshan knows that. She said we would be welcome to visit anytime we want; especially if it is an emergency. At the moment, it was just a matter of getting up. Lan Zhan knew I was waking up, so he decided to help me out. He slid out from under me and went to go fill the bath. I had finally opened my eyes by the time he came back.

"Hey sleepyhead, I have a bath ready," he said.

"You can go first," I told him, "I'm still sleepy."

"I prepared it for you specifically," he said, "let me get carry you."

Before I could deny him, he had lifted me out of bed and carried me to the bath, "Lan Zhan," I whined.

Before putting into the water he set me down and removed my robes, leaving me in my trousers. He said I can remove them once I was in the water. I told him I wasn't getting in, but he didn't let me be. He picked me up and placed me in the tub.

"Lan Zhan!" I whined again, "why?"

"We are heading back to Cloud Recesses today," he said, "I want to make sure you are ready."

"We can just teleport there now," I said with a pout on my face, "why didn't you let me sleep more?"

Lan Zhan held my face, "you can once you are done with your bath, dressed, and have eaten breakfast," he said and kissed me on the lips, "please...for me?"

I groaned, "fine!"

He chuckled and kissed me once more before leaving me to bathe. I sighed and removed my trousers. I spent a good amount of time trying to focus enough to clean myself. It took me longer then expected to finish. I then managed to get out and dry off. Lan Zhan was kind enough to have robes set for me so I got dressed. I then basically trudged out to him and sat at the table with him to eat.

"You are mean," I said.

"Eat, not talk," he said.

"Lan Zhan, I will refuse to leave with you if you are being this demanding of me," I threatened. He glanced at me, "Lan Zhan, I mean it. You know me well enough to know that I do not follow rules or conform. If you wish for me to stay, let me be as I was before we got here. Stop trying to push me."

"Sorry," he said.

I sighed, "it is okay, just remember that, okay?"

He nodded, "I just want to make sure you are being taken care of."

I blinked a few times as I stared at him, "what do you mean?" I asked.

"I cannot stop thinking about the memories I saw," he said, "the torture and abuse you went through. The amount of times you dealt with things on your own."

"Lan Zhan, I am with you now," I said, "I have been doing so much better since I have been with you. I am more myself and you care for me like no one else ever has before. You are probably the first person to really care about me this much. Shijie, I know cares, but this feels different."

"I am glad," he said.

"What happened to no talking while eating?" I asked jokingly.

He shook his head and just smirked. After we ate, I laid down for a while as Lan Zhan went to go bathe. I had fallen asleep for a while as he was busy. Lan Zhan was sitting beside me as I finally woke for them day. I only slept for another hour or two.

"I want you two to keep training," Baoshan said as we were set to leave, "and visit when you can."

"We will," I assured her, "we promise to come to you, and not just if we have problems with our cultivation."

She laughed a bit, "I am expecting you two to have issues every now and again. Be safe, okay."

We nodded, "we will see you soon," I said. With that, Lan Zhan and I had said one final goodbye, before teleporting back to cCoud Recesses.
