Chapter 72

We watched more of Wei Ying's memories play out. How he dealt with being in the burial mounds for three months, forging the Yin Hu Fu and creating Chenqing. Watching as Wei Ying killed all of those Wen's under Wen Chao's control and then torturing him, Wang Lingjiao, and Wen Zhuliu to death. She witnessed how closed off Wei Ying had become because of what he went through. Seeing it all, I now really understood why he pushed me away. I wished he didn't but I have him now, and I wanted to let him know I am never letting him go.

After the SunShot Campaign, we then saw the scene play out of Wei Ying telling my brother the truth about everything. Baoshan wanted to see everything that happened up until we ran into her in Yunmeng. Witnessing the magical process of Wei Ying recovering, gaining a new core, and learning about his new abilities. Baoshan only shook her head and giggled a bit when she saw Wei Ying freak out a few times. She then saw what I told her about the shared energy and the fated soulmates situation. It was written out, and the source was never wrong with information like this.

"So, he is just having a hard time with control," she said, "as it would be normal for something so new. I will help him...and I want to help you too...if you let me. I want to help you get to your next step. I have enhancements and resources to help you two ascend to immortality."

"Thank you," I said.

"By the way, you two are not as intimate as I expected you to be," she said, "you two had a couple moments but nothing ever went further. May I ask why?"

"We..are taking our time," I answered with some hesitation.

She smirked, "you two both want it, but you hold back...you are engaged. Are you waiting until the wedding night to consummate? Some tend to consummate sooner if they are engaged and have a long wait for the wedding."

"We respect each other," I said to her, "if he wants more, we can sit down and talk about it, but I am not one to force him to do anything he doesn't want to do...especially with something like this."

"I get it," she said, "I just respect it. It's nice to know you two aren't just wild animals and you love each other very much. You two have had a long road up to this point. So I am glad you both have working through everything as best as you can."

I nodded and looked down at Wei Ying, "should we wake him now?" I asked.

Baoshan sent some energy to Wei Ying and his eyes opened slowly. He was staring right into my eyes when he opened them. I smiled down at him, "welcome back to those who are awake," I told him.

He slowly sat up, "it was a nice nap," he said and looked at Baoshan, "so, are you disappointed in me?"

Baoshan shook her head, "never would I have expected to see my grandson be so strong. You suffered from a huge ordeal. You managed to control demonic energy when no one else could. I see you still have the flute..the amulet though?"

"It wasn't shown, but Wei Ying destroyed it," I told her, "other cultivators were making threats and demands for it and Wei Ying didn't want it in the wrong hands. When he felt strong enough, he sat in the cold spring and destroyed the amulet."

"And your flute?" She asked.

"Cleansed and is no longer a ghost flute, but just a spiritual flute," Wei Ying said taking out Chenqing and showed it to her.

"It is a beautiful flute," Baoshan said, "how about, starting tomorrow, I will help you two start training for immortality and control?"

"That sounds good to me," Wei Ying said.

"The people that wanted the amulet, have they been caught?" She asked.

"Still on the run," I answered, "Brother and some other sects are looking for them."

"Alright," she said standing, "come, I will show you to your room."

"Room? Not rooms?" Wei Ying asked.

"You can stay with your partner," Baoshan answered.

I smiled at her along with Wei Ying before she led us out of the room and to our bedroom. She then left us alone to take care of our things. We will be eating in a few hours so we will meet with her again later.

"What did you think?" Wei Ying asked me, "are you disappointed in what I have done?"

"No," I told him, "I am able to understand you better after watching."

He smiled at me, "really?" He asked.

"I want you to know, it is was not your fault for anything that happened," I said, "blaming you was wrong. The Jiang's don't deserve your kindness."

"I am aware," he said, "but Jiang Cheng is doing better and Shijie is always kind to me. They are my siblings. I am not worrying over Madam Yu and Jiang Fengmian anymore. Dwelling on them will just bring be back to the past. I don't want to constantly have my mind there. I want to live happily, and I am happiest with you, Lan Zhan."

I smiled at him and kissed him. It was a quick one as I didn't stay long in his lips. I pulled away as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Lan Zhan, I know you said it is not necessary between us, but I want to thank you anyway. You have been there for me, and you are so amazing and I love you. Thank you for loving me when no one else could."

"I will always love you, Wei Ying."

He placed a kiss on my cheek, "and I will always love my Lan Zhan."
