Chapter 44

~*Wei Wuxian's POV*~

I was sitting on the bed in the Jingshi. I liked living with Lan Zhan this time. We've gotten closer and spent time talking more. He has made more time to spend with me and it makes me happy. The bed was shared between us. That's how close we have gotten. I have been here in his him now for two weeks, and I was happy to be with him. The temporary time apart gave us time to get to know each other and really get through some rough patches.

Lan Zhan and I had just come back from the training grounds. I was still trying to wrap my head around this whole water cultivation thing. I could potentially cultivate other elements as well. I just couldn't fathom it.

"Wei Ying, you look distracted," Lan Zhan said to me.

"I'm not necessarily distracted, I'm just thinking," I told him, "I'm still trying to wrap my head around the water cultivation."

"Wei Ying, you are a strong cultivator," Lan Zhan told me.

"That still doesn't explain anything," I said laying back on the bed.

I then heard Lan Zhan walking. I turned my head to see he was now standing beside me at the bed, "sometimes, there may not be an explanation or if there was, it isn't one that is easily understood or sought out."

I took his hand, "you'll help me through this, right?" I asked.

He then laid beside me, "I will," he said, "I will always help you through anything. As your partner, I want to there for you. Always."

I smiled and rolled to my side so I was facing him, "thank you," I said placing my hand on his face, "I love you so much."

Lan Zhan placed his hand over mine and took it. He then brought my hand to his lips as I felt him kiss it, "I love you too, Wei Ying."

I then rolled us over so I was above him. Inching my face closer to his slowly, only got him more worked up. He swung his leg around me and wrapped his arms around my waist and flipped us over quickly. I yelped at the sudden movement but was soon muffled by his lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I responded back to his kiss.

Gaping my mouth only a little just for his tongue to snake in. My mouth began to water a bit just by his taste. I think Lan Zhan could tell as he explored. Lan Zhan soon took a light nip at my lip. In doing so, a soft moan escaped from my mouth. The moan seemed to catch his attention as he pulled back.

"Did...I hurt you?" He asked.

I was confused, "no....why?"

"You made a sound like I bit too hard," he said.

"Oh," I said and laughed lightly, "you are not hurting me. I was enjoying it. It's sweet that you pulled back to check. I'm okay though."

He rested his forehead to mine, "I'd feel bad if I hurt you," he said.

"I'm not hurt and I trust you," I told him, "I think you need to trust in yourself as well. I know you will not do something I would not like."

"I just sometimes forget my own strength," he said.

"The Lan arm strength is nice. It makes me feel safe and secure. Make me feel like I am protected just being held by you," I told him.

"Really?" He asked.

"Yes," I told him, "Lan Zhan, I love you and I trust you."

"And I love you. Thank you for being patient with me," he said.

"I should say the same to you," I told him, "when I first got here, I was upset that I may have hurt you when I moved out. You have been patient with me and let me take the time to heal and really think about you and how I feel for you."

"It helped me too. It let me know that I was not doing a good job at being your partner. It's been several months, but we have come a long way. Along with your cultivation," he said.

"I feel like I should have listened to you sooner, back when you and Jiang Cheng first found me. You asked me to come back here with you but I feared being punished and I felt you hated me," I told him.

"I never hated you," he said, "I just couldn't admit even to myself, that I like you. I was confused on why I was having such feelings for you and you kept telling me you weren't into men."

I chuckled a bit, "I wasn't really into men, but I wasn't into women either. I may have been seen to flirt with them but I never actually committed to anyone. I was never interested in relationships...I felt I wasn't good enough for anyone really. Then I saw you and I just felt, you were different. You made me feel something I never felt before and yes you are a man, but I don't care. I love you because of who you are. I am happy to have you, even lucky to have you."

"I am sure you probably know this but I wasn't into anyone before meeting you either," he said, "I'm sure at some point Shufu would have tried to find someone suitable for me to wed to continue the family line...though Xiongzhang could also do that too."

"He may have a better chance at an heir since he is into Wen Qing," I said, "I can't produce babies otherwise I may consider it."

He chuckled, "with me I hope."

"I wouldn't want anyone else to father my children," I told him.

After saying that, his lips were back on mine. I giggled under the kiss but was soon melted into the bed as Lan Zhan's kiss drew me in. I wasn't sure how long we were laying there just kissing, but it was worth it. We were finally getting somewhere with our relationship.
