Wei Wuxian sat on the bed in The Jingshi with a pout on his face and his arms crossed over his chest. He understood Wangji's and Xichen's concerns for him, but he did not like to be out of the action. He was fine and he was not starting to see that Wangji and Xichen are treating him a little too much like a child. It was slightly infuriating.

"Wei Ying, I know you are upset," Wangji said.

"Upset?" Wuxian asked, "you mean infuriated."

"Why?" Wangji asked.

"I am not a child, Lan Zhan. Why did you insist on taking me back here when we could be helping?" Wuxian questioned.

"When are you going to think about your health first before doing something that could make it worse?" Wangji argued back.

Wuxian huffed, "you do not trust me."

"I do trust you," Wangji said sitting beside him, "I am sure you could have done more but I do not want you to push it. You had one interaction with resentful energy again and it caused you to panic."

Wuxian huffed again and turned away from him, "even as immortals you don't think I am strong enough...you know useless I felt when I no longer had a golden core? It felt like this, but much worse," Wei Wuxian couldn't help but pour out his feelings at this point. He wanted Wangji to understand what he was going through and how he was feeling, "Seeing everyone I know being able to do amazing things, cultivate, and do things in the correct path; while I could no longer hold a sword, and everyone around me made me feel powerful but weak at the same time. I couldn't even help at Lotus Pier anymore. You taking away my freedom to help others now that I am able to again, it hurts."

Lan Wangji did not even know how to speak at the moment. He had this ping of guilt sitting in his chest as he was someone who made Wei Wuxian feel small when he was at his lowest point. He knows that Wei Wuxian can handle himself but his health mattered so much to Wangji that he felt he had to step up and look after Wuxian. Wuxian wasn't one to focus on his health to begin with.

"Wei Ying, I am sorry that I took that choice from you, and I am sorry if I was one of those people who made you feel completely useless," Wangji told him, "I love you more than anything, and I know how much you do not pay attention to your health, so as your husband, I pay attention. I can feel your pain, your emotions, and your energy."

"What happened to no apologies between us?" Wuxian asked with a smirk on his face. Wangji sighed and shook his head. Wuxian chuckled before turning away from him again, "fine. Whatever," he pouted.

Lan Wangji grabbed Wuxian and pinned him down onto the bed, "what is this sassy, pouting lip for? Huh?" Wangji asked playfully.

Wuxian turned his head away from him, "no!" He said.

Wangji moved a hand to Wuxian's side, just under his arm and squeezed. Over and over again Wangji moved his fingers, tickling Wuxian. Wuxian couldn't contain his laughter at this point and knew he had to fight back. He managed to free a hand and started tickling Wangji. Wangji laughed and bolted off of Wuxian. He then went to the opposite side of the room.

Wuxian stood up, "Two can play at this game, Lan Zhan," he said taunting him.

Wangji remained opposite of Wuxian. Between them was the table. As they were circling the table as if they were having a stand off, a knock came from the door. Wangji and Wuxian managed to circle the table, now standing on opposite sides but swapped. Wangji opened the door but did not turn away from Wuxian.

"What is going on here?" Xichen questioned as he entered.

"Lan Zhan started it!" Wuxian pointed as he pouted out his bottom lip.

"Because you were being sassy," Wangji replied.

"I was being sassy because you deprived me of my freedom to make my own decisions," Wuxian explained folding his arms over his chest, "think I am not strong enough..." he pouted again.

"I did not say that," Wangji said, "and I apologized. I will ask you how you feel next time, okay?" Wuxian huffed and turned away from them.

"Wei Ying!" Wangji growled and lunged towards him.

Wuxian squealed and hopped over the table. He then moved behind Xichen, "You're so mean," Wuxian pouted.

"Boys, please settle down," Xichen said, "it has been a long day for the both of you. I know you both are able to work this out, in a more civilized manner."

"Fine," Wuxian said and came out from behind Xichen.

Wangji was not standing beside Wuxian so Wuxian took the opportunity to poke him on his side. Wangji chuckled but snapped and captured Wuxian in his arms.

"You are not going to stay here and think about what you have done," Wangji told him.

Xichen sighed and shook his head. He realized he needs to sit down with them to discuss what was really happening with them right now. He assumed that they are to be fine, but he just wanted to be sure.

These boys. They are going to make me look like Shufu in less than ten years if they keep this up, Xichen thought.

"Alright, sit down, both of you," Xichen demanded. Wangji let go of Wuxian and they sat down at the table with him, "Now, I want to talk this through, properly."

Wangji said nothing but he then looked at Wuxian. Wei Wuxian decided to tell them what is on his mind, "I said this to Lan Zhan earlier, but I was basically brought back here and I wasn't given the proper time to answer if I could stay and help or not. Depriving me of my choices makes me feel vulnerable. I get you both worry for my health and I am grateful, but please talk it through with me better first.

Back when I was living without a golden core, I felt more useless than I have ever felt. I couldn't help train disciples or even hold a sword long enough to train with Jiang Cheng. I am an immortal and I am still treated like I have no core. I get I had a moment with the resentful energy and had a panic attack, but I was fine after that. I hate feeling like I cannot do anything."

"Wei Ying, I do not mean to take that voice away from you. I just felt that you might need it," Wangji explained, "but as I said before, I will ask you next time and listen to what you have to say. You just have to promise me that you will be open with me. Talk to me and tell me if there is something wrong."

Wuxian nodded then looked at Xichen, "I asked before, Wangji just answered for you," Xichen said, "let's communicate better next time okay."

Wangji and Wuxian nodded in agreement, "I am guessing you did not come here to have a therapy session with us though," Wuxian said.

"No, I wanted to discuss what happened after you both left...as I said I would do," Xichen told them.

"Alright," Wangji replied as he pulled Wuxian back on his lap, "can you sit here?"

"I can," Wuxian told him.
