"Wei Ying?" Lan Zhan asked, "you have a big and open room, but not many items inside other then a bed, wardrobe, and a table. Do they ever value you at all?"

I smiled at him, "not really...Shijie did, but whenever Madam Yu saw that Shijie or Jiang Cheng had spent the time to get me things, she'd take them or break them. When she found out Shijie gave me a clarity bell, she took it back and punished me with Zidian for even thinking I was worthy enough to have one."

Lan Zhan looked angry, "if she were alive, I would kill her myself," he said quietly.

I chuckled, "why does it matter now? It is in the past. I cannot do anything about it now. Jiang Cheng gave me one when I returned from the burial mounds after those three months. I carry it with pride now. Madam Yu was the only one who never accepted me into the family. I would have been adopted into the family sooner if she would have just allowed it. She just believed in such scandalous rumors, thinking that Jiang Fengmian was my real father and I was his bastard son. I find that rumor to be insulting to my real parents, as I witnessed their death, I would know they are my real parents."

"Which is why I said I would kill her myself if she was still alive," Lan Zhan repeated, "she was evil to you."

To be honest, Lan Zhan was the first person to ever tell me they would personally fight Yu Ziyuan over how bad she had treated me. I basically lost it at that point. I shook my head and sat on the bed. Lan Zhan grew worried as he saw I was close to crying.

"What is wrong?" He asked sitting beside me.

"No one has ever said they would fight her for me," I answered, "you're the first person to ever want to defend me. Shijie wanted to, but her cultivation was weak and couldn't stand against her mother."

Lan Zhan pulled me into a hug, "will always fight for Wei Ying," he said calmly, "will always protect you and stand up against the world for you."

I started to sob as he pulled me to his lap, "thank you," I said wrapping my arms around him.

"Take all the time you need to calm down...let's just hope a nearby building didn't catch fire or flood," he said.

I couldn't help but laugh, "I cannot two you if I did or not. I never even realize it happened until someone points it out."

"When you are ready, we can go walk around if you want," he told me.

"I don't know, I am sort of liking the moment right now," I said, "I don't really want to move."

"Then Wei Ying can stay here in my lap," he said.

I looked up at him and pulled his head down for a kiss. I started to feel a lot more relaxed. My body became warm again, and I could feel my energy flowing through my body. Our energies were blending again. Lan Zhan was calming me down. I wasn't sure if he was aware he was doing this either. Was it something we can control? His lips were always so warm. He movement of them settled back in sync to mine, creating a soothing rhythm.

His tongue swiftly hooked around mine only the swirl around it and gently suck on it. I let out a soft moan through his comfort and his connection to me. He pulled away and slowly started to kiss my cheek, moving down my jaw to my neck. I tilted my head a little and let him latch on to my neck. He would lick, nip, and suck on one spot and it was such a good feeling.

"So good, my Lan Zhan," I said to him.

"Glad you like it," he whispered into my ear.

We kissed once more and let it linger for a moment. I then was the one to pull away and stand up first. He took my hand and stood up after me. He smiled at me as I led him out of the room and decided to show him around more of Lotus Pier. I took him around town first, as it was started to slow down a bit.

While we were strolling along, I heard something that had me jump in Lan Zhan's back, "Lan Zhan, don't let it get me, please," I begged. Lan Zhan knows of my fear of dogs so he knew why I was acting out. He adjusted me in his back and held me steady.

"I will protect Wei Ying," he said, "No dog will get you."

"You are the best," I said to him as I put my face into his neck.

"Only for Wei Ying," he said, "should we head back to the sect? Shijie should have dinner ready soon."

"Okay," I said.

Lan Zhan carried me until we reached Lotus Pier's gate. He then walked behind me to let me know he had my back. It made me feel safe and secure knowing that I had him with me. I realized I would be happy to do almost anything as long as I had Lan Zhan with me. Lan Zhan was also someone who would never want me to face anything alone ever again. So he was with me, and he was mine. We were soulmates, and we were going to make sure we lived up to that term perfectly.
