I woke up to the Sunday morning sun hitting my face and bright it was.
"I mean damn" I said I as snatched my curtains closed with an attitude. I didn't mind waking up early but anything bright that woke me up became my enemy. Every Sunday was the same for me clean my house and go to the my favorite farmers market Glenn's right down the street from my house. I got out of bed showered and maintained myself.
"What to wear ...what to wear" I said to myself over and over as I scanned my walked in closet. I think I have OCD because everything in my house is extremely organized and stored by either size, color, length or any other system I come with and labeled. And my closet was no different. I spent good money on my clothes and I treat them as good as they make me look.
"Hue your just going to the store" I spoke to myself in third person which was usual to me. I don't why but I had this urge to just be sexy today no matter if I was going to the market. I took out a fitted denim dress and some comfortable tan toms to go along with it. I thought about my red bottoms but thought I would be pushing it. I put my hair in a high bun and grabbed my purse and phone and headed out the door.
"How you doing miss Huey" I heard my annoying ass neighbor Johnny say.
"Johnny dear it's Hue and I'm fine" I said in a harsh tone. Johnny was 50 and a throne in my ass and had perv written all over him.
"Why you gotta be so mean young lady I'm just being polite" he said like that was suppose to move me
"Oh Johnny please. If that's all you want I have somewhere to be" I said closing my car door
"Bitch" I heard him mumble under his breath as he walked backed to his house
"You wanna say that a little louder Johnny cause I don't think I heard you right" I said ready to get out my car. I'm usually a cool calm and collected person who doesn't like drama but it gets me upset when a man speaks down to a woman just cause he thinks he can.
"I ain't say nothing miss" he said copping a plea and throwing his hands up as if to say he surrender
"I told your old ass stop starting shit with me now next time you see me do yourself and me favor and don't speak ok. Have a nice day" I said looking him right in the eye and smiled as I drove off blasting my radio.

Glenn's market sign appeared as I turned into the parking lot and got out. This is one of the places that I love to be at. I have been coming to till store for years and get not only my personal home groceries but I get my catering items from here as well.
"Well good morning Ms. Jackson" the only person I allowed to call me by my last name at anytime said out
"Mr. Glenn how are you" I smiled and said to him as he reached out for a hug.
"I'm still here by God's grace baby doll" Mr. Glenn was always so positive and encouraging every time I saw him. Nothing could steal his joy. Not even him losing his wife 2 years ago to cancer. He always had words of wisdom for me and made my Sunday's.
"What you got good for me" I looked at the produce and their were so many options all so fresh and appealing.
"Well honey I got your favorite shipped in today." He said as he winked at me
"Oh no you didn't get my guineps" I said like a kid in a candy store
"Yes I did got 5 pounds right in the back for you. I know how you like to get your year worth all at one time" I laughed cause he was right. Guineps was a fruit from Jamaica that only came around once a year.
"I had 2 bags but a young fella came in and brought it just as you walked up" Mr. Glenn said as he organized his apples.
"Dam....I mean darn. Maybe next time but thanks Mr. Glenn I'll get my bag when I'm all done " I laughed as I took my cart and started shopping. I started my way around the store as I usually do produce then meats and seafood then smaller items towards the back.
"Yeah so man I told Joe to just let his ass keep it" I rolled my eyes cause this man was right in the middle of the aisle in my damn way!
"Excuse me sir" I said once but he was so into his conversation he ain't he hear me. I repeated myself one more time before waking over and moving his cart myself and what do I see my bag of guinep in his cart.
"So he in the way and took my bag" I whispered to myself as I completely moved his cart to the side.
"Oh damn I ain't mean to be all in the way sweetheart" the man on the phone said as he looked me up and down. As soon as he made eye contact I swallowed hard. He was tall maybe about 6 feet. Tattoos all over with a bread and waves on swim but not too much! He had dimples and muscles flexing under his white shirt. He looked perfect!!!
"Ohh no it's ok..umm I umm just moved your cart to the side so I could slide pass" I said trying to compose myself
"If I'm in your way you can move me too beautiful" he said and flashed his dimples. I tried not to blush but couldn't help it. All types of things was going thru my mind after he said that.
"I'm sure your legs work perfectly fine so you can move yourself but thanks for the compliment" I said I as walked pass him and I could feel him still watching me. I couldn't even remember what I walked down that aisle for but I knew I liked what I saw.
"Hue get yourself together" I said giving my self a pep talk. All I could think of was damn the whole time I was shopping. Damn...damn...damn.
