Chapter 27:Dont Let The Love Fade

Lauryn Hill played through the house as I cleared off the table from dinner. Jason was giving Harley a bath and putting her to bed. I had lost the bet that I had with Jason and he was right. We were having yet another girl. He was so excited and not to mention his new black sports car in the driveway added to his excitement. I was a woman of my word.
"Beautiful you finish" Jason said coming down the stairs ready for bed.
"Almost. You look sleepy J" I said as looking at him. Jason worked so many hours the last couple of weeks. We had looked at some homes and I found my dream house. Jason paid all the bills and would never let me pay a penny towards a thing. He worked his ass off to get the house I wanted even if he didn't sleep. I appreciated everything he did for me.
"I'm ok baby. You need to get off your feet though. Whatever you got to do just leave it. I'll take care of it in the morning" he said turning the lights off grabbing my hand to go upstairs. I got in bed and pulled out my laptop. I had some emails to check that couldn't wait.
"Hue why are on that thing" he said undressing getting in bed. Jason had one rule with us. When we were in bed we would spend whatever time we could together. Whether talking making love or just watching a movie. No distractions. I agreed with him but sometime I had to break the rules.
"Baby I gotta answer these. I won't be long I promise" I said tying away focused on my screen.
"I wanted to spend some time with you beautiful" he said rubbing my thigh.
"I'm sorry baby this is important though" I said still not even looking at him. Sometimes my work clouded my mind and marriage wasn't even on my mind.
"And I'm not anymore" he said alittle upset.
"Jason you know that's not what I meant. It's just that Harley is sleep and I have some time to do this before she wakes up." At this point I knew this conversation wouldn't end good.
"Hue I put you first no matter what. You been working all week and forgetting about me. I know you been busy but you know what never mind" he said laying down hitting his lamp in his side. He was right I had been working a lot but that's just cause we were close to having a second baby and a new bigger house. I wanted to help out as much as I could so he wouldn't lol hisself working.
"Jason please don't act like a child. How can I forget about you when you right here" I said with an attitude pregnancy always brought out my argumentative side.
"Like I said you forget that I want your attention too but it's all good Imma shut my childish ass up. That's what you want right" he said as I rolled my eyes getting mad.
"Actually yes that's just what I want since you wanna be smart" I said going back to my computer as he got up with his pillow and blanket. "Where are you going" I said looking at him
"On the couch. Don't worry I won't bother you again about this" he said as he walked out. I just shook my head and sighed. He couldn't get mad at me for wanting to make money for us. And I always showed him attention what more did he want.
"Your daddy is working on my nerve" I said rubbing my stomach as she kicked. I could tell she wasn't too happy with me either. Even though I was mad at him I didn't want to sleep away from me. I loved Jason with everything inside me but sometimes he had to understand that just cause he worked hard and still balanced his time with me didn't mean that I had to do the same. It was hard enough taking care of the house and Harley while pregnant then working. I wasn't a complainer but I needed a break just as well as him.

"Jen he makes me so mad sometimes" I said as we walked into the mall. Jen wanted to go shopping and I had a clear schedule so hey why not.
"What was yall arguing about anyway" she said as we walked into this lingerie store.
"He said I haven't been paying him enough attention. And he went to sleep in the couch." I said pushing Harley in her stiller as she slept.
"Ok when the last time yall had sex" she asked looking thru the racks
"Idk like 4 days ago" soon as I thought about it I knew I was in the wrong. Jason would try and start something but I was so into work I turned him down. I didn't even realize I did it that much.
"See that's not like you girl. When the last time you actually sat down and asked him about his day or yall just talked about you and him. Hue I told you that's just as important as your money. That's your husband and remember how much in love you are with him. Never let that die" she said as I started to feel bad about last night. Jason always made me feel like his first priority no matter what and here I was getting mad at him for nothing. I should've listened to him and instead of run off at the mouth. He was the father of my kids and my husband and he needed to be treated with the same respect he gave to me.
"I hate when your right Jen" I said taking a deep breath.
"I know boo but what you really need to do is get some stuff from in here and give your man some pussy tonight. Let him know he still your daddy" she said as I laughed. She was right though
"Ughh where do I even start. Did you miss this big ass stomach" I said lifting my shirt revealing my 6 and a half month belly.
"Bitch the smaller the better. He goin take it off anyway. Come on and find something" she said as we started looking. I was going to make tonight special for my baby. I wanted to make him feel the same as I always did. Let him know that he was important to me and nothing could change that.

Tonight was all about Jason. I straighten my hair and put on my sheer lingerie dress. The only lighting in the house was candles that I placed everywhere. I got his favorite dessert. Red velvet cake from Joys bakery by his office. I had everything set for him when he got home. I wanted it to be special. I heard the door open as I was in the laundry room getting some towels.
"Hue" he called out and I knew he was still mad at me.
"Yes J" I said as his eyes got big as soon as he saw me.
"Where's Harley" he said staring at me.
"I took her to your mother. I wanted us to spend some time together" I said waking over to him.
"So now you wanna spend time with me" he said as I wrapped my arms around him. I didn't want him to be mad to me anymore.
"Baby I know I said some shit to you I shouldn't have but I was wrong ok. My work shouldn't come before you and I apologize for making you feel like I didn't wanna be around you cause that's not what I want at all" I said looking him in the eye.
"It's all good beautiful. I just want you to realize that I'm not trying to crowd your space but I want to make love to my wife everyday. I wanna talk to you just about you before we talk about business. I need to spend that time with you. I want our marriage to stay strong" he said holding on to me. Jason never changed on me. He always was the same. Loving caring and forgiven man I fell in love with.
"And I will make sure that happens. Do you forgive me baby. I want to make tonight all about you" I asked looking up at him.
"Tell me I still have your heart" he said as he pecked my lips. Jason wasn't a soft person by any means but when it came to me he needed to hear how loved and wanted he was. I was the only person who gave him that feeling.
"You do and always will have my heart baby. No one else can make me feel what you make me feel. I'm still yours Jason" I said kissing him back. I loved making him feel like the most important man in the world
"How much do you love your husband" he said feeling all over me.

"Not even Derek Luke. Your crush" he said as we laughed.
"Not even fine ass Derek Luke. You are better than him daddy" I said smiling. Jason was so secure with himself that he never got jealous when I looked at other men as attractive in a respectful way. He did the same with females I never got upset of jealous. I knew I was all he wanted.

"Your still as beautiful as you was when I first saw you at the grocery store" he said sitting on the sofa pulling me on his lap
"What did I have on" I said to him testing his memory
"Let me think. You had on this denim dress and tan shoes. You hair was up" he said causing me to smile wide

"Hue that's never changing. My mother always told me that a man is suppose to support his family. I love being the provider in my house. I'll do it till I die" he said as I understood his point.
"Ok baby. Just promise me if you ever need help you'll come to me instead of carry it all on your shoulders" I said as he just picked me up going upstairs.
"Jason?" I said asking him again. All he did place me on the floor kissing my lips over and over.
