Chapter 3: A New Beginning

*Sam's P.O.V*

Miguel wants to talk about him and I. What does he want to say? It could go in a million different ways.

"What's going on, Miguel?" I asked him, getting straight to the point.

"I just wanna say that I know we kissed a few days ago at the dojo and we have some history.." he started to say. "But I just think right now, it's better if we stay friends. What do you think about that?"

As I've said before, Miguel and I didn't officially get back together once he got released from the hospital.

Yes, we kissed but we didn't really talk about what's going on.

And with my strong feelings towards Hawk, I know exactly how I feel by what Miguel is telling me.

He probably thought that I would be upset but I'm not.

Plus, I'm glad that we're having this talk so that we can figure out what's going on.

"I'm okay with that." I nodded.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

I want to assure him that I'm okay with this decision because I'm not against it. There have been times that I would think about the situation too and I wouldn't know what's happening.

"I just want to make sure you're okay, Sam." He looked at me with a soft look in his eyes.

"I promise, I'm okay." I told him as I gave him a soft look back.

"That's good, I'm glad." He said before he gave me a hug.

I hugged him back and we stayed in an embrace for a little bit. It was a comforting hug and it lets me know that Miguel will always be there for me whenever I need him.

After a few more minutes, we pulled away from the hug.

"So you're going to talk to your dad when you get home?" He then asked me.

"Yeah." I nodded. "I'll have a talk with him about the situation and then see what he thinks. Hopefully he's able to think about it and then try to make it work with Johnny."

"Yeah, it'll be best if he's able to work together with Sensei and I'll have a talk with him too when I get home."

"Isn't Johnny your ride?"

"Yeah." He said. "I told him that I'm gonna talk to you after training so he's waiting in the van."

He certainly had that planned. Not bad.

"Oh, okay. I didn't know that." I let out a little laugh.

"I wanted to make sure that Sensei wouldn't leave me here all by myself."

"I'm sure he wouldn't do that."

And I'm telling the truth. I'm sure Johnny would wait for whatever Miguel is doing. Johnny cares about Miguel a lot.

"Yeah.." he trailed off before he said, "But yeah, hopefully after we talk to them, they're able to get along and find a way to work together. Think of it as a new beginning. Where we are all working together."

"A new beginning.." I smiled, "I like that."

"I had a feeling you would." He sent me a smile.

Miguel is great, I'm glad to have him as one of my best friends.

Arriving home, I felt relieved because I'm now in a place of comfort. I can relax and not really worry about a thing.
