*Eli's P.O.V*
As I stepped into the mini mart, a wave of cool air hit my face. The fluorescent lights illuminated the aisles, showcasing rows of snacks and drinks.
My eyes scanned the shelves, searching for that refreshing Gatorade and the perfect bag of chips.
I made my way towards the beverage section, drawn to the vibrant colors of the Gatorade bottles. I spotted the lemon-like flavor that always quenched my thirst.
Grabbing one from the shelf, I twisted off the cap and took a refreshing sip, feeling the cool liquid rejuvenate me.
Don't worry, I'm going to pay for it.
Next, I headed towards the snack aisle, my eyes landing on the familiar orange packaging of Cheetos.
I reached for a bag, feeling the satisfying crunch that awaited me. The cheesy goodness was irresistible.
Sporting black shorts and a comfortable gray tank top, I continued my mission through the store.
The sound of my footsteps echoed against the linoleum floor as I made my way towards the checkout, ready to enjoy my snacks.
As I approached the counter, ready to pay for my snacks, I heard the familiar jingle of the doorbell. I turned my head, and there he was—Robby.
My heart skipped a beat, and a surge of anger coursed through me. I couldn't believe he had the audacity to show up here.
The memories of that awful day at the park came rushing back. I was on a date with Sam, and Robby decided it would be funny to cut off a chunk of my hair.
The betrayal and humiliation I felt still lingered. I clenched my fists, my body tensing up.
I know he saw me. I was the first person he saw when he entered the mini mart. The anger is just coursing through me and being in the same place as Robby is completely takin me off guard. It makes me want to vomit.
I didn't want to stick around and confront him. I quickly placed the cash on the counter, my hands trembling with a mix of anger and anxiety.
I had to get out of there before Robby caught up to me. I couldn't let him ruin my day any further.
With a glance over my shoulder, I made a hasty exit from the mini mart. The cool air outside provided some relief, but the anger still simmered beneath the surface.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. This wasn't the time or place for a confrontation.
I was only a few minutes into my walk on the sidewalk before I heard that voice. The voice that called my name and it made my anger build up.
"Hawk, wait up!" Robby said, behind me.
Turning around, I glared at him. I wasn't in the mood for this. I want to go home and perhaps watch a movie before it's time for dinner. It's up to me to get my own dinner because my mom is going to be at work late. She's getting some extra hours today.
"I'm not in the mood, Robby." I said, starting to walk away again.
"Come on, Hawk." I heard Robby say and I halted. I stopped and turned around with a glare on my face.
"Don't 'come on, me'. You have no business talking to me after the shit you've done."
"I'm sorry for what I did at the park." He said, "I'm sorry for cutting some of your hair off, for attacking you. I should've never done that."
I couldn't help but roll my eyes as Robby tried to apologize. It just didn't sit right with me. His words didn't completely make me feel better about what he did at the park. It felt like he was trying to brush it off too easily.
