Chapter 39: Enlightenment

*Eli's P.O.V*

Entering the school grounds with Demetri, we've been talking about random stuff that comes to our minds. But as we walked farther onto the hallway, Demetri then turned his attention to tell me what kind of dirt he found on the mysterious guy that came to Miyagi-Do with Kreese.

My binary brother spent a good amount of time trying to find out anything that we should know about the mysterious guy. So now he's telling me all the dirt.

"Vietnam vet turned businessman." Demetri started telling me, "Had a few ups and downs, but still turned out pretty rich. Not much dirt, other than some toxic waste scandal in Borneo back in the 80's."

I scoffed, "Jeez, sounds like a Renaissance man. How'd you find out his name?"

"I took a picture at the dojo, found an old facial recognition beta test and tweaked the code to make it compatible with HEIC." He explained.

I want to be surprised but I'm really not. Demetri is really smart and he'll be able to figure out pretty much anything.

I always get impressed by how Demetri does certain things.

"I love it when you talk nerdy." Yasmine said as she walked up to the both of us, but mainly Demetri.

And Moon is also with her.

"You are both the first and my favorite person to say that." Demetri said to Yasmine.

Then the two of them walked to the side which left me with Moon.

"I- I like the new hue." Moon said to me, "Purple's the color of the crown chakra, you know? Symbolises enlightenment."

"Oh, yeah, that's what I was going for, so.." I said and then smiled as she would smile back at me.

Demetri was still talking to Yasmine, I noticed, so this does give me the chance to talk to Moon and apologize for my past actions when I used to be in Cobra Kai.

"Umm Moon, I wanted to talk to you about something." I started to say, suddenly getting nervous.

I'm getting nervous because I haven't talked to Moon in a while. This was the first time in months that we're talking. Plus, I'm dating her best friend so this whole interaction could be awkward.

But Moon didn't look at me as if this whole conversation would be awkward. She already knew about Sam and I so she already accepted us. I wish Miguel could do the same but hey, he's being civil to me and that's good enough for me at the moment. I still want to talk everything out with him and just be on the same page again. 

Since Moon isn't making this moment awkward, I now decided that I won't make it awkward either.

"What is it, Hawk?" She asked me as she gave me her full attention.

"I just wanna apologize for everything I've done when we were together. I know I didn't treat you right and the way I acted, it was very unacceptable. I shouldn't have done what I did. I know I hurt you and I'm sorry. I'm very sorry and I'm hoping that you can forgive me."

I got too confident back then and it made me become an asshole. I did some shitty things and in the process, I lost Moon because of my actions. Now I can only ask for forgiveness and have a fresh start with her. We can be friends and everything will be okay.

Moon is a sweet girl and she doesn't have a mean bone in her body.

"I don't think you're a bad person, Hawk." She first said.

"You don't?"

"No." She shook her head, "Yes, you've done some messed up stuff last year but I know that's not really you. You lose your way a little and sometimes, you can always find your way back. I believe that's happening now because you're much kinder and you're with Sam. I believe Sam is keeping you on your toes."
