*Sam's P.O.V*
"What are you thinking about, Sam?" I heard Moon ask me as we were at her house.
Yasmine is also here and we're pretty much having a girls day with each other. We figured that it's been awhile since we've done one of those. And it's still summer so it's perfect.
"I'm trying to think of something fun to do." I started to say, "Eli is getting tired of being in his house all the time so he wants to do something fun that involves being outside."
"How is he doing?" Yasmine asked as she's on her phone.
I won't be surprised if she's texting Demetri. She's probably distracting him as he's at work.
"He's doing fine. He's just bored out of his mind."
I lean back, feeling the couch protest under me, and I can't help but think about Eli.
He's been so cooped up lately, like a bird with clipped wings, and I know he's craving an escape. Something fun, something wild, something that screams adventure.
I tap my fingers against my thigh, each click of a ticking clock echoing the urgency of finding that perfect plan.
It's got to be something that'll make his eyes light up the way they used to. Maybe we could explore that hidden cave by the shoreline or go for a spontaneous road trip to nowhere.
My mind is a storm of ideas, each one a potential key to unlocking the old Eli, the one who thrived on spontaneity and laughter.
I'm determined, more than anything, to find that activity that'll not only get him out of the house but also bring back that spark in his life.
I can almost hear his laugh, see the thrill in his posture, and it's that image that pushes me to keep brainstorming. He needs this. We need this. And I won't rest until I find it.
"What if we throw a party?" Moon suggested. "And we can do it at the Canyon."
"I remember the last time I was at a party that was located at the Canyon." We heard Yasmine mumble under her breath.
And for sure, Moon and I know what she is talking about.
"Yeah when Aisha gave you a front wedgie.." Moon started to say but then trailed off because of Yasmine's look on her face.
It was a glare but she seemed to resume back to her phone quickly and who knows, Demetri probably sent her some mirror selfies that he took in the bathroom.
"Miguel hit me when I was there too.." I trailed off.
"And he was drunk when that happened." Moon said.
"It was still wrong of him to do that."
I no longer hold grudges so that memory is in the past. I'm not even focusing on that. I'm focused on Eli.
And it's also me remembering how at that party at the Canyon, that was when Moon started dating Eli. It wasn't until after the party when I started to have a crush on him. It started at the All Valley tournament.
"It's crazy to think all of that happened last year." Yasmine brought up a good point.
"It seems like all of that happened years ago." Moon was astonished as we were talking about this.
"But yeah, a party?" I brought back the topic that we were originally talking about.
"When should it happen?" Moon asked.
"The sooner, the better." I answered, "Eli is getting tired of being in his house."
"How about this Friday?" Yasmine suggested. "We have two days to plan it and then we can have everything set up. It'll be good."
