*Eli's P.O.V*

I've arrived at the dojo early so that I can have some time to myself. Give me the chance to think things over.

It's only been a few days since I had dinner with Sam and her family. For the most part, it went well. I get along with her whole family but I still hated how I accidentally spilled wine on Mr. LaRusso.

Even though I was told to not worry about it, I couldn't help but be worried.

I sat on the sparring deck as I'm texting Sam who is getting ready to train with Johnny.

Me: So when do you go to training with Johnny?

Sam👑💜: I'm supposed to be leaving the house anytime now. I'm waiting for Demetri to pick me up.

Me: I wonder what Johnny has planned for you and the rest of Miyagi-Do.

Sam👑💜: Probably something dangerous. But I'm trying to keep an open mind.

Me: As long as it doesn't involve dogs or cement trucks, you should be fine.

The cement truck was pretty extreme.

I'm surprised that the guys and I were able to pull through and make the cement truck spin.

Sam👑💜: Cement truck?

Me: Yeah, he took things to the extreme a long time ago.

Sam👑💜: Then maybe you should wish me luck. 😂

Me: You're pretty tough, babe 😉 You're gonna do amazing.

Sam👑💜: And you're gonna do amazing when you're training with my dad.

Sam👑💜: I'll talk to you later. Demetri is here.

Me: Talk to you later, princess. 💕

As soon as my conversation with Sam ended, Miguel and some of the other dojo members started to arrive.

"Hey, man." Miguel greeted me.

"Hey." I greeted him back.

"How are you doing?"

I shrugged. "I'm doing fine. I'm ready to start training."

"Me too." Miguel chuckled, "It should be interesting."

We both then decided to set our bags down inside the building that's at the dojo and then we started to do stretches.

I kept debating if I wanted to ask Miguel about what I can do to impress Mr. LaRusso without giving too much away. I still want to make a good impression to my girlfriend's dad. I don't want to keep messing up.

"Hey, can I talk to you about something?" I then asked Miguel.

"Yeah, sure. What about?"

How could I word this so that he doesn't become suspicious? I needed to really think through this.

"I want to make a good impression to Mr. LaRusso, you know? Let him see the potential that I have in karate." I started.

That's a good start, right?

"I completely understand." Miguel started to say, "He's one of our senseis so of course you want to make a good impression to him."

"Yeah." I nodded.

He continued, "Just keep working hard in training. Show him what you got. You're good at karate and I'm sure Mr. LaRusso sees that."

"I'm planning on working hard." I grinned at my best friend.
