*Eli's P.O.V*
If I could describe this moment, it would be very awkward with a whole bunch of tension.
High tension as all three of us stared at each other, too shocked to say a word.
Miguel is shocked because he saw Sam and I making out with each other.
Then Sam and I are shocked because Miguel is the one that found us.
A part of me wishes that Demetri was the one who found us. But that didn't happen.
So what do we do in this scenario?
We should just tell the truth because we can't hide anything anymore. Miguel already saw us.
"Miguel, let us explain.." Sam said in a gentle tone.
"Yes." Miguel said, trying to stay calm but failing, "Please explain."
"Well, Sam and I are dating." I blurted out.
No beating around the bush, let me just say it out loud so that I don't have to repeat myself and Miguel didn't have to wait after a long explanation.
"Yeah, I can tell." Miguel's face turned hard, "But what I really want to know is how this all came to be."
Sam took a look at me before she sighed and then said, "I've had a crush on him since we broke up. Back at the canyon. When you said that you wanted to be friends, it gave me an opening to try and express my feelings for Hawk. Then it just happened."
"How long?" Miguel then asked.
"How long, what?" I raised an eyebrow.
"How long have you two been dating? How long have you two been sneaking around behind my back?"
"We've only been dating for a week or so." Sam explained, "But it's been a few weeks since we started having movie dates."
"So let me get this straight.." Miguel said as he started to pace around the dojo, "You two watched movies together and then the more it happened, you two just became a thing?"
Sam nodded. "Yeah."
Miguel continued to stare at us for a while, trying to think of something to say. But then he darted his eyes to me and that's when his whole demeanor turned dark.
"You lied to me." He spoke out.
"I- I know." I said but he stopped me.
"No, stop right there." He put his hand out, "I've had to find out twice from you to see if you and Sam were just friends. Then you were saying how it'll be weird if you two were a couple. You lied to me multiple times."
"I didn't mean to lie, Miguel."
"If you didn't mean to lie then why did you?"
"I just wasn't ready to tell you, I'm sorry." I apologized.
"He's not the only one who lied, Miguel." Sam said from beside me, "I lied to you too."
"But you didn't lie to my face, Sam." He raised his voice, "Hawk did."
"Can we talk about this?" I asked.
"Talk about what, Hawk? About how my best friend is dating my ex-girlfriend and I'm supposed to be okay with that? There's nothing to talk about because it already happened."
"This isn't how we wanted you to find out." Sam said to Miguel.
"Was I ever going to find out?" Miguel looked at the both of us.
"Eventually, yeah." I nodded.
"Sure." Miguel rolled his eyes.
"It's the truth, man." I snapped.
