I finished my breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast, savoring the simple flavors before I took my medicine.

The pain in my arm from the car accident made each movement a challenge, but I powered through.

As I cleaned the glass cup that once held orange juice, I couldn't help but reflect on the week that had passed since the accident. Time seemed to both crawl and fly by, filled with moments of frustration and gratitude.

With my left arm in a cast, cleaning the cup proved to be a bit of a struggle, but I managed to get the job done.

As I started to make my way back to my room, the sound of the doorbell broke the silence, signaling that someone was visiting me.

Curiosity sparked within me as I wondered who it could be.

I couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and hope as I made my way towards the door, eager to discover the unexpected visitor standing on the other side.

I walked over to the front door, getting ready to open it. And when I did, I started to smile.

Sam is here.

And it's totally unexpected because she didn't tell me but I'm fine with the surprise. I'm glad that she's here.

"I decided to drop by." She smiled at me.

"I'm glad you did." I said as I let her in and she took a few steps into the house and then I closed the door.

Then when I turned around to take a look at her, she already was grabbing me gently before planting a soft kiss on my lips.

She was holding onto my shirt, helping my balance so that I don't fall and injure myself further. Her lips tasted like sweet strawberries and I couldn't get enough of it. Let me kiss her forever.

Then we pulled away but I obviously didn't want to. I wanted to continue to feel her lips on mine.

"What were you up to before I arrived?"

"I was eating breakfast and taking my medicine." I said, "Then I was just getting ready to head to my bedroom."

"Ooh." She grinned. "I'll go to your bedroom with you."

Her comment made me have a smirk on my face as we walked hand in hand to my room.

And as Sam's little hand grips mine, there's this incredible sense of tenderness that washes over me.

Her trust is palpable in the softness of her touch, and it's like the whole world narrows down to this tiny point of warmth between our fingers. It's more than just physical contact; it's as if she's entrusting me with her curiosity and comfort, all in this gentle hold.

We got to my room and I closed the door as I watch Sam sit on my bed. She made herself comfortable before I joined her side.

"So how's the healing process going?"

I shrugged. "It's going fine. I'm not really dizzy at times. My ribs are feeling better since the bruises are fading. Sometimes my arm would be sore but the medication helps. Plus, I'm happy that I get to walk around more and not just lay in my bed."

"And the walking helps?" She asked.

"Yeah, it does." I nodded, "It's like I have a bit of freedom."

I haven't really left the house since I had the car accident. My mom would always tell me to get some rest and because it's been a week since it happened, I'm free to now roam around.

And it feels relaxing whenever I'm able to be around the house and not just in my room.

"And plus, I've been doing the meditation exercises that your dad taught me."
