*Eli's P.O.V*

The night wraps around the car like a cloak as I navigate the quiet roads home. The only sound is the soft hum of the engine and the occasional whisper of the wind as it slips through the slightly open window.

The dashboard's glow casts a soft light on Moon's face, her features calm, but her silence is a puzzle I can't solve.

I can't help but wonder what's circling through her mind, what's behind the stillness that's settled between us.

With each mile that passes, the weight of the unsaid words seems to grow heavier. I want to ask, to dive into the depths of her thoughts, but I hesitate, fearing that I might break the fragile peace that's formed.

The streetlights flicker, briefly illuminating her contemplative gaze, and it strikes me just how much I wish I could read her mind.

Pulling into her driveway, the reality of our journey's end sets in. I kill the engine, and the sudden silence feels louder than any conversation.

She doesn't move to get out, and there's a moment—suspended in time—where I'm acutely aware of the space between us.

It's filled with a thousand potential confessions, and I find myself holding my breath, waiting for her to break the stillness. What is she thinking? Does she feel this tension too?

The night is still, but inside, I'm anything but.

I turned to my girlfriend. "Are you okay?"

She didn't look at me right away, she continued to look out the window, listening to the words I spoke. It kept me wondering what's on her mind and then she turned to look at me.

"I can't stop thinking about what Sam said at the beach."

"What did she say at the beach?"

"When she told you that there is a chance that you still have feelings for her. Is what she is saying true?" She asked me, nervously, her eyes a bit glossy.

"No, it's not true." I shook my head. "Sam has been saying a lot of nonsense lately."

"It's okay if you do, Eli. I understand because you two have a history."

"I like you, Moon." I assured her.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure."

Without a word, she leaned in, and I found myself drawn to her like a magnet to steel. Her lips met mine with an urgency that caught my breath, and the world outside melted away.

The kiss was fiery, passionate, igniting a warmth that spread through my chest and enveloped my heart. I could feel the love she poured into that kiss, a love that was as clear and as tangible as the night air around us.

Her hands found their way to my neck, pulling me closer, deepening the kiss, and I surrendered to the sensation, to the profound connection that seemed to transcend time and space.

In that kiss, there was a promise, a silent vow that spoke of shared secrets and unspoken understandings.

It was a kiss that said everything that words had failed to express throughout our silent car ride.

And in that moment, I knew, this was where I was meant to be.

We then pulled away from the magical kiss that we shared and we were looking at each other in the eyes.

"I better get inside." She whispered.

"Okay, then." I whispered back.

She gave me another kiss before she opened the door to the passenger side. I watched as she would walk up the sidewalk to her front door before she turned back around to look at me.
