*Sam's P.O.V*
"Thank you for coming over." I said to Moon.
"Thank you for having me." She smiled.
As I sat on the cozy couch in my living room, Moon and I indulged in the mouthwatering aroma of freshly-made chicken wraps. The tantalizing scent wafted through the air, making my stomach rumble with anticipation. The soft glow of the lamp illuminated the room, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
I took a bite of my chicken wrap, the flavors exploding in my mouth. The tender chicken, marinated to perfection, was nestled in a warm tortilla, accompanied by a vibrant assortment of crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and a drizzle of tangy sauce. Each bite was a delightful combination of textures and tastes, a symphony of flavors that made my taste buds dance with joy.
Moon and I chatted animatedly as we savored our wraps, our laughter filling the room. The comfort of my own home added an extra layer of coziness to our hangout. We shared stories, dreams, and secrets, our friendship growing stronger with each passing moment.
The familiar surroundings of my house provided a sense of security and relaxation, allowing us to truly unwind and enjoy each other's company. The soft cushions of the couch embraced us as we leaned back, completely at ease. The sound of our laughter mingled with the soothing background music playing softly in the background.
With each bite, our bond deepened, nourished not only by the delicious food but also by the shared moments of laughter, understanding, and support. It was in these moments, surrounded by the familiar comforts of home and the company of a dear friend, that I realized how fortunate I was.
"I never really know what to do at the house when my parents are at work and then it's just Anthony and I here." I explained, "I needed some company."
"Well, you can always give me a call and then I'll come over."
I smiled. "I'll remember that for next time."
"But speaking of doing something.." she started to say, "how about we go to the water park today?"
"The water park?"
She nodded. "Yeah, it's a nice day outside where we can be near water. Come on, it'll be fun."
"I'm not sure, Moon."
"Trust me, Sam. It could be really relaxing."
"I could relax at home though." I tried to tell her.
"Aren't you tired of being home all the time?" She asked.
"Not really."
I knew deep down that I wouldn't be able to fully enjoy the experience, and the idea of disappointing Moon made my heart sink.
I could see a flicker of frustration in Moon's eyes. I could see that she's excited and she's trying to make me feel better. But my hesitance was dampening her excitement.
I felt torn between wanting to make Moon happy and staying true to myself. I'm only not feeling up to it because of how things have been lately and I hate how my mood would sometimes bring other people's moods down. That ain't right.
"I could have Yasmine join us." Moon tried once again to convince me.
I'm literally so close to giving in and just going for it. I should just send it. I should go to the water park and forget my troubles. I need to have a nice day where I'm not moving around all the time.
Moon is right. It's a nice day outside and it's the perfect weather to be near water.
"I'm just saying this though.." I said, "I'm not getting in the water. I'll tan and read a book."
