*Eli's P.O.V*

When I went to the kitchen, I put the leftover pizza on the counter before making a bag of popcorn.

I can instantly smell the popcorn and the smell is everywhere in the kitchen. It smells like we're at a movie theater.

You can't tell me that I'm the only person who enjoys the smell of a movie theater.

The buttered popcorn in the air that makes our senses all tingly, the candy making it all so sweet.

Even the hot dogs smell so fresh.

It's literally insane to me.

When the microwave went off, I opened it and grabbed the bag of hot popcorn. Then I put the buttered snack inside a bowl before I put the pizza box in the microwave.

I made sure to grab another soda for Miguel before I went back to the basement.

When I made my way back down the stairs to the basement, I realized how quiet it was. I thought Miguel would've been watching something on his phone or started another game for himself. But it was quite the opposite.

Silence had filled the room. That's strange.

Reaching the basement, I saw Miguel just standing by the couch, looking at something.

It made me confused until I realized...

That Miguel has my phone in his hands.

I'm having a guess that Sam sent some messages and he saw them. Reason why he looks confused and in disbelief.

This had to happen now? Seriously?

"Miguel.." I slowly said as I still had the items in my hands.

He didn't look at me at first but then he slowly turned his head to me and I can tell that he wants some answers.

But there's no way that I can give him the exact answers that he wants.

Which only means one thing.

That I would have to lie to him.

I can easily lie about this without revealing anything because friends even watch movies together. He would understand. Then he wouldn't know what was really going on.

"Do you want to tell me what's going on?" He asked.

Straight to the point, I see.

He didn't want to wait. He wanted to know everything at the moment. In which, I don't blame him.

"What do you want to know?"

"I want to know why you and Sam are texting. Then I want to know why you're in such a hurry to make sure that I leave so she can come over." He raised an eyebrow.

He may seem calm while he's looking at me but I can tell that there's a bit of anger. Maybe he's just angry at me for hiding this. Maybe he's overthinking the situation.

I mean, if I was in his position, I would be confused as well. I would want to ask a million questions to get the answer that I want.

"Sam and I are friends." I started. "And we're simply friends that watch movies together. You have nothing to worry about."

And the lies started.

Because, Sam and I aren't friends. We're dating. And if I were Miguel, I would worry.

"You guys are just friends?" He asked.

I nodded. "Yes, Sam and I are friends. We're friends just like how you and her are friends."
