"Taylor" I hear Ross say.
I wake up slowly his soft eyes watching me, for a brief second I think I'm dreaming. I smile at him, not remembering the events of last night just yet.
"Ross" I whisper and he smiles at me.
"The doctors said they will have updates in an hour, beautiful" he says softly.
Doctors? What doctors?
I blink and take in my surroundings. Jay my mind screams and I look at him immediately. He's breathing and I sigh with relief.
"Rach and Matty brought you your stuff" he says indicating the bag by my feet.
"Thanks Matty" I say.
"Did Rachel get back safe" I say realising that she's not here.
"No problem, anytime. Yes I made sure she got back" he says swooping his brunette hair back. I check on Jay, kissing his cheek and smoothing his hair back. He's been asleep forever.
I rummage through my duffle finding a pair of black jeans and a shirt. I can tell Rachel has packed this, she hasn't missed a thing. Toothbrush, shampoo, hairbrush and chargers. I smile.
"I'm gonna wash and then head to the doctor" I say softly. Of course there's an en-suite. Private hospitals are kitted out.
I let the water stream onto my back using my own toiletries to wash, I mentally thank Rachel. After a quick shower I dry my hair with the towel letting it fall into curls. I put on my bra and panties, jeans and shirt.
Heading back into the hospital room I pack up my dress and heels. Matthew eyes me, and Ross is on his phone.
"When's he gonna wake up" I say anxiously looking at Jay.
"Don't worry" Ross says.
"I'm sure he'll be up soon" Matthew reiterates.
I stand at the bed waiting, watching. He's got a few stitches. I try not to cry again.
"Ms Gilbert Scott" a doctor says entering the room.
"Yes" I reply not looking away from Jay.
"Good news, Jay has suffered no internal bleeding. We believe the impact just knocked him out. He did wake briefly before we did x-rays earlier. X rays show that the hit produced superficial cuts which we have used stitches on. They are dissolvable, and will fall out themselves. We would like to monitor for concussion, symptoms of nausea or loss of memory" he goes on.
Memory loss, I think and worry.
"But otherwise it's good news" he explains and gives me a smile.
"Thankyou when will he wake up" I say softly.
"He needs rest" he explains.
"When he does though; encourage him to eat but not huge amounts" he says.
"Any questions" he waits and clips his pen on his board.
I shake my head and smile.
"Thank you" I say.
"Nurses will check on him, his vitals and such. But any worries please press the bell" he says indicating the one by the bed.
He leaves the room and I breathe out slowly.
"Thank you" I say softly, I'm not religious. But in moments such as these ones I somewhat hypocritically pray to god.
"Come on Jay" I say stroking his face. He begins to stir wincing as he moves his head.
