Rejected By The Alpha To Be

Chapter 5

Kaitlyn Night POV/:

I'm Kaitlyn but everyone just calls me Kate I'm 18 and a senior in high school. My fathers the Alpha of our pack and my mothers the Luna making my older brother Danny the Alpha to be.

It was Monday morning and I was sitting at the table eating breakfast with my family before it was time for me to head out to school. My family was talking about mating season...a topic I wasn't really interested in because I never had any luck with finding my mate.

It was depressing really, all my friends and most of everyone around my age in our pack had a Mate....except for me.

All werewolves find their soulmates at age 13 the reason why we get mated so young is so we can learn and grow together giving our inner wolves time to become one....I'm well pass that age.

"Hey Kate if you don't buckle down this season you might just be lonely forever" said Danny nudging my shoulder I rolled my eyes.

"Don't say that Danny your sister will find her mate" said my mom as she sat the bottle of syrup in front of me because she knew that I won't eat my pancakes without it. I grabbed the bottle and cracked it open drowning my pancakes in syrup. "I Like sweet things especially maple syrup or anything that smelled like sweet maple really". "Geez that's enough save some of that for the next person will ya" said Danny snatching the Syrup from me I punched him in the arm before picking up my fork in beginning to eat. "Ouch" he whined like a little bitch.

"Kate what did I tell you about violence at the table!?" Said my father I shrugged "Can't remember I got morning brain" I said using the fact that I had just woken up moments ago as an excuse.

My dad knew I was bull shitting him but still decided to let me off the hook anyway. He wasn't all that good at disciplining me...his youngest and only little girl.

"Ok the both of you finish up quickly, Kate Danny will drop you off at school" said my dad getting up and leaving from the table. My dad usually drops me off but recently he's had a lot of alpha work to do giving that the size of our pack had grown since last mating season and another was near which means the size of our pack is about to triple with all the wolves in our pack finding their mates and some having babies.

I'm actually glad I won't be the one to inherit the responsibilities of being alpha.

I believe that any wolf given that title just has bad luck. Couldn't be me and won't be me....ever.

Hell I don't even want the title of Luna...I guess that's one of the upsides of never finding your mate, The possibility that he or she could be an Alpha and I'd be stuck with the responsibilities of an Luna....that would suck so hard.

"Why do I have to take her to school?, she hits me" Danny whined but my father just ignored him and shook his head as he grabbed his jacket.

"I'm going to hit you now if you don't shut up" I said grabbing my book bag. "Kate be nice to your brother" said my mother I just sighed and got up from my seat before dragging Danny with me. "It's sad that you're such a pussy" I said as we walked out of the door. "It's sad that your 18 and still can't drive" Danny clapped back jiggling his Car keys in my face and sticking out his tongue. I punched him in his arm again before going around to the passenger seat.

"Shut up and come on before you make me late" I said as he stood there pouting and rubbing his arm. "Bully" he mumbled

I'm not going to lie I am kind of a bully when it came to Danny, he may be 3 years older than me but he still acts as if he's the younger sibling.

Yes I call him names and hit him but in reality I love him very much and don't know what I'd do if I were to ever lose him. He's my biggest hater but my loyalties protector and supporter.

We got to the school and I got out of the car. "Have A Good Day Katie Pooh" said Danny shouting an embarrassing nickname in a attempt to embarrass me in front of the students getting dropped off or walking in the building. I flipped him off as I walked away.

Loser.

The bell was about to ring so instead of stopping at my locker I went straight to my first hour class....English.

I took my seat at the front of the class like I always did and pulled out my note book, text book and a pencil with a sigh.

Today is going to be a long and boring day....Or so I thought.

I yawned as more students began to pour in. Miss K had shut the door just as the bell rang but two other students came knocking right after. miss K opened the door and allowed them inside as they were only a second late. I wasn't paying them any attention until I smelt a sweet smell.

It smelt like warm Maple, the smell warped around me like a warm blanket. I took every bit of it in before realization hit me and my eyes snapped towards the source.

It was a girl...she was tall but not taller than me we were around the same height. She had light brown curly hair that reminded me of the bark on a maple tree and crystal blue eyes.

When she smiled her dimples on both cheeks could be seen clearly. And her long eyelashes didn't do her any justice either. She was gorgeous my heart was particularly beating out of my chest as my wolf yelled in my head.

"That's our mate Kate" said my wolf Lena excitedly.

I made eye contact with the girl and swear I saw her mumble the same thing as me.

"Mate"
