"Bhaiyya, why are you handing out money to them?" Subhadra asked, clutching his shoes. "They didn't even steal these from you! Isn't the whole point of the Joota Churai Rasm for them to actually swipe your shoes?"
Nishita chimed in with a smirk, "Oh, Choti, you might have your Bhaiyya's shoes, but your Bhabhi still decides when she leaves the mandap." She watched as Subhadra's eyes widened. "And I've decided a small chunk of your Bhaiyya's fortune should be spent on his saalis."
"No way!" Subhadra pouted. "That's not how it works! Bhaiyya you shouldn't agree to that!"
Jagdish chuckled. "So, Choti, you don't want your Bhabhi to come with me?" He glanced at Nishita and shrugged. "Seems like you're not worthy enough to be Subhadra's Bhabhi. What should we do now?" He turned back to Subhadra with a playful grin. "Shall we leave her here?"
"Bhaiyya!" Subhadra gasped, her eyes wide with mock horror. "You're just pulling my leg, aren't you?"
Krishna snatched Jagdish's shoes from Subhadra's hand and tossed them to Nayan, who caught them easily. "There, now they have the traditional reason to demand money."
Subhadra dramatically slapped her forehead, her hand echoing against her skull. "I swear, both the Singh men are just too darn polite for their own good! What will become of our clan?" She waved her hand at Chandrakant. "Bhaiyya, as an adopted son of my mother, at least you should do something remarkable."
Unni coolly slapped Chandrakant's shoulder. "Yeah, he'll do more than a remarkable job, Subhadra, don't worry about that." He stifled a snicker as Chandrakant shot him a glare hot enough to melt ice. "Boy, oh boy, someone is fuming. Simmer down, you hot stuff!"
Prasanna raised an eyebrow at the spectacle. "Seriously, what's with all this drama, quit it you losers!" She fixed her gaze on Subhadra. "Listen, Subhadra, Jaggy doesn't want to hurt you, but imagine if you had a sister. Wouldn't you want her to feel the love from her Jiju? That's the vibe Mohini and..." She paused, shooting an unreadable glance at Devika. "...Nishita's friends would totally dig, right?"
"Yeah, but they didn't put much effort into hiding the shoes," Subhadra sighed. "Kant Bhaiyya easily found them and got them back for us."
Devika shot a fiery glare at Chandrakant, who responded with icy indifference.
"Kant knows how to get his way out of anything, Subhadra," Unni interjected. "He's a criminal lawyer, like your brother. They need to have some criminal intelligence, right?"
"I don't think that's the case," Mohini interjected. "Jiju is just awesome. He's not like the people he works for or against."
"Jijaji ki Pari," Krishna mocked her. "What's with you girls being Jagdish Veer Singh's princesses? First Subhadra, now you."
Mohini scrunched her nose in annoyance.
"Alright, enough," Nishita declared, flicking her hand through the air as if she were casting a spell. She stood up straight, facing her giggling friends. "Okay, listen up, ladies! The shoes are officially in the custody of the bride's sisters, so let the demands begin! And hey, no holding back! Just a heads up, my hubby is a big-shot attorney at a fancy firm in Mumbai and he owns a freaking bungalow. So, feel free to aim high!" She winked playfully at Jagdish, who blushed furiously under the sudden spotlight.
"Nishita, come on, dial it down a notch," Jagdish protested, his cheeks resembling ripe tomatoes. He turned to Nishita's pals with an imploring look. "Seriously, guys, don't pay her any mind."
Devika couldn't help but let out a bubbly giggle. "Oh, Jagdish ji, don't you worry! We're not after your property, promise." She let out a dramatic sigh, fluttering her lashes. "But how about this? A lavish dinner at some swanky joint in Mumbai, all on your tab?"
"Deal," Jagdish blurted out without a second thought.
Devika shot him a triumphant look before nodding to Nayan, signaling for Jagdish's shoes. She sauntered over to where Nishita and Jagdish stood, her steps light and playful. She dropped down to her knees in front of Jagdish, a picture of determination. "Alright, Jagdish ji, time for the royal treatment. Let me help you slip into those shoes."

A/N
That was such a boring fight, everyone being mature and polite. The only ones adding a bit of spice to life were Subhadra and Nishita, I mean, without them, this whole scene would have been 'bleh' vibe.
Adding "Joote Do, Paise Lo" for this very plain Joota Churai Rasm.
