"Huh?"

Jagdish stared at her with a blank expression.

"We are going to be parents!" Nishita snarled, tired of repeating again.

He blinked, his mind struggling to catch up. "Parents?"

"Oh, you dumbo, I am pregnant!"

Jagdish's jaw hit the floor. "Pregnant?" he echoed, disbelief battling with a spark of hope in his eyes. Then, as the truth sunk in, a grin split his face wide open. "Pregnant..." he repeated, the word gaining weight with each iteration. Finally, a joyous laugh exploded from him, echoing across the beach. "Pregnant!"

Nishita giggled, her hands flying up to cover her blushing cheeks. "Yep, pregnant!" she confirmed.

He scooped her into a tight hug, a yell erupting from his lips. "We're going to be parents!" he hollered. Nishita could only shake her head, a wide smile breaking through the tears welling up in her eyes.

"Nishita, I'm going to be a Papa!" he cried, pulling back to cup her face. "Papa!"

"Yes, you are," she whispered, tears tracing down her cheeks.

His own eyes welled up. "Oh, my Kanha! Nishita..." he breathed, his voice thick with emotion. "You... you're going to be a Maa... My love is going to be a Maa."

She leaned into him, murmuring against his chest, "Yes," her voice muffled. "We're going to be Maa and Papa, Jagdish."

"Nishita, I love you, I love you so much!" Jagdish repeated over and over, his voice thick with emotion. He held her tight, tears of joy streaming down his face.

He never thought he'd be so lucky, blessed with so much happiness. At that moment, the world around them seemed to disappear, leaving only the two of them in a bubble of pure bliss. His heart pounded in his chest, each beat resonating with the love he felt for her. The warmth of her embrace, the softness of her hair against his cheek, everything about her was perfect. Jagdish closed his eyes, savoring the sensation of having her in his arms, the reality of their love finally sinking in.

And... Maybe someday, the unspoken love in her eyes for him which flickered every second would finally find its voice. For now, this was a promising start, surely a very promising start.

"Hello, Maaji?"

It was chaos.

Nishita couldn't help but watch Jagdish with a wide smile as he kept dancing in front of her.

He had been a hurricane of activity ever since they had stepped through the door. One second, he had been kicking his shoes off with a careless whistle, a Bollywood love song slipping out from between his lips. The next, he had been tossing his keys haphazardly onto the table, completely ignoring the usual key holder by the door. It had been a delightful kind of chaos, and it had reached its peak when he had grabbed her hand, pulling her into a spontaneous dance before whirling off towards the kitchen to make tea. To make tea... To make tea!?

Surprise bloomed on her face.

Jagdish, the man who ran his life with the precision of a clock, was flinging loose tea leaves into a pot carelessly. It was too adorable to ignore. This domesticity, so out of character for him, held a strange attraction for her. It wasn't awkward or forced, but rather a glimpse into a Jagdish she hadn't seen before. He whistled a cheerful tune, his movements light and carefree, as if this simple act of making tea was a secret joy he'd always possessed. It felt like a revelation, a hidden side of him she'd always suspected was there, waiting to be discovered. And... her Jagdish was just perfect and everything in her life made so much sense now.

Yashoda's voice yanked Nishita back from her thoughts. "Haan, Nishi Beta..."

"Can you come here tomorrow?" Nishita asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She held the phone close to her ear, muttering more than speaking as she watched Jagdish completely oblivious in the background, singing loudly.

"What happened? Is everything alright?" Yashoda's voice was laced with concern as she rushed. "Are you okay? How is Sher?"

Nishita shook her head, a bewildered smile playing on her lips. How could this woman hold onto her stupid punishment for so long? Her heart was just full of love for her Sher. A soft chuckle escaped her lips. "I am fine," she assured Yashoda, "your Sher is..." she trailed off, stealing a glance at Jagdish who was now full-on twerking, his hips moving in a way she wouldn't have expected. Another slightly louder laugh bubbled up from her chest. "Your Sher is very well as well," she finished.

"Why are you laughing?" Yashoda's voice held a hint of suspicion and then a sudden realization dawned. "Wait, is that Sher singing loudly?"
