I will be strong and face everything.

I sighed and stood up from my bed. I decided to change my clothes and rest for some time. I took out my clothes from my bag and walked into the bathroom. Everything was still the same in the bathroom. My shoulder slumped, and I took one more deep breath before changing my clothes. I laid down on my bed, and I thought it would feel weird after so many years, but for a split second, it felt like home. My eyes once again fell on the picture frame of my father and me. Alfred's words once again echoed in my head. Tears started to form in my eyes before I realised it. A small part inside me, deep down, was still affected. It still cared and cried when no one was watching. I closed my eyes, not wanting to look at that frame anymore. A tear slides from my eyes. I was lost in my grief when my cell phone started to ring. I sniffed and whipped the trail of my tears before taking my cell phone. His name was flashing on it. I sniffed again and slid the red button. I was in no mood to talk to him. I wanted to be alone for some time. I was about to put my cell phone back on the nightstand when it started to ring again. I cut it once again. Why can't he understand I don't want to talk with him? It rang again for the third time. He won't stop calling me until I take his call.

“Why the hell were you not picking up my call?” he said fiercely immediately, even before I could say hello. I closed my eyes and exhaled.

“Because I didn't want to,” I rasped in my steady voice. I wanted to let him know I was having an emotional distance after being in my old bedroom. There was a silence of a few seconds before firing the next question.

“Why are you crying?” he asked this time sternly, making my brows furrow. How can he be so sure that I'm crying?

“I'm not crying," I said in my normal voice, not wanting to talk about this any further.

“Don't lie to me, doll. I know you are crying. Tell me now, did your father say something to you?” he asked in the same tone, not letting go of the topic. He won't stop asking me until he knows why I was crying.

“I'm not crying, and my father did nothing. I was just a bit emotional after being in my bedroom for a decade,” I told him while closing my eyes in distress.

“Don't get too emotional or attached to your old bedroom. Don't forget you are coming back to me soon,” he said sternly, making me remember the same thing again.

“That's why you called me,"  I asked in irritation.

“No, tomorrow we are going for a ring selection. Be ready at twelve.” He was not informing me he was coming to me.

“I will not come. I am not interested in it even a bit. You can select whichever ring you want after I'm going to wear it only for namesake,” I told him dryly, displaying my unwillingness to choose a ring. I heard a harsh breath from the other side. I know he was angry, but I don't care.

“Be ready at sharp twelve,” he said sternly before cutting the call. I looked at the black screen of my cell phone. Why can't he accept no? I threw my cell phone away and closed my eyes. I turned to the other side and closed my eyes. Sleep came to my eyes immediately, and I was soon submerged in deep slumber. I woke up when Sabrina bombarded my room with her presence. She was done with all her classes, and now it was time for sister-to-sister bonding. She first made me change into the matching dinosaur onesie she had ordered for us. They were a little loose for me, but I didn't mind. It felt more comfy. She dragged me to Lilly. “Mom, how are we looking?” she asked excitedly of her mother. Lilly chuckled when she saw us in dinosaur outfits.

“My daughter is a little crazy,” she joked, which made me chuckle. Sabrina pouted, making me laugh even more.

“But she is hell cute,” I said while wrapping my stand around her.

"See, that's why Grace is my favourite,” Sabrina said while showing her teeth to her mother.

"Yeah, you both are cute,” Lilly said, then pinched her cheeks.

“Now let's go. I have decided which movies and series I want to watch with you. Mom, please send some cheese and salted popcorn to my room,” she said to her mother while dragging me upstairs.

“I will, but be on the table for lunch,” Lily had to shout to tell us, looking at the speed of her daughter. She is such an active child. Full of energy all the time. She made me watch endless movies with her the whole day. She even requested that her mother send our lunch to her room. I was exhausted, and now it was even time for dinner. I wanted to eat my dinner and take a rest. Sabrina protested when Lilly told her to take a bath and change her clothes for dinner, but she refused, saying she was so comfy in those clothes. Lilly glared at her for a minute, and she sprinted from her seat and ran straight to the bathroom. I chuckled, looking at her speed.

“See how stubborn she is. That's why I need to be strict with her. If it were your father, he would spoil her endlessly, looking excused. I can understand her. Raising an energetic child like Sabrina needed lots of energy.

“You go and change your clothes. Your father is waiting for you at the dinner table,” she said with a smile while lightly squeezing my arm. My body went stiff, and I gave her a forced smile.

It was time to see my friend.
