I'm fucked up.
Suddenly I couldn't breathe properly. I need to get away from here. Away from this devil. Away from his smouldering eyes. Away from his intoxicating scent. Away from the Erick Villain. My husband! These words felt so strange and yet, at the same time, so heartwarming. I declare officially that something is very wrong with my brain. I should be thinking about all those things. I shouldn't be feeling all these things. They were confusing and scaring me at the same time. I got up suddenly when all the voices in my head became even more loud. I wanted to be alone. Everyone was surprised when I stood up suddenly. His hand slipped down my thigh.
“What happened?” Isabella was the first one to ask. Her brow raised in question. I took a deep breath.
“N–nothing! Excuse Me,” I said with a forced smile. I turned around and started to walk away. I could feel his burning gaze on my back.
"Doll," he called me, and then I heard his heavy step following me. My heart started to race even faster. He was chasing me now. I held my gown and started to run fast.
“Ah! Grace,” Xanthus's mother called me when I was about to pass her. It made me halt.
“We were just talking about you,” he said while intertwining her arm with mine and pulling me to the lady she was talking to.
“This is Vivian. She is the aunt of Erick and Xanthus.” She introduced us, and I gave her a small smile. She was a tall woman with a beautiful face. She looked so poised and mature.
“Hello,” I said with that smile still plastered on my face.
“She is so beautiful. No wonder Erick is madly in love with her," she said with a grin on her face. I think she witnessed the display of love Erick showed. I bit on my lower lip. Madly in love. I wanted to laugh out loud, but I controlled myself.
“So when are you both getting married? You got engaged before Xanthus and Sage,” she asked with a polite smile on her face. I blink my eyes. We are already married. I had no answer, not even a random date or month in my mind because I'm still not ready for it. A hand was wrapped around my waist, and I was pressed to a firm chest. His intoxicating scent engulfed me once again. I was trying so hard to run away from him, but here I was again in his arms.
“Soon, Aunty Vivan, and you will be the first one to get the invitation," Erick said with a grin on his face. It made her grin back.
“I will be waiting for that day,” she said with a big smile and eyes twinkling in excitement.
“Why didn't Samuel join us today?” Xanthus' mom asked her, to which she exhaled deeply.
“That boy has no time for all this. I forced him to come to his cousin's wedding, and he even got ready, but then he got an emergency call from the hospital, and he ran straight to attend his duty. Hospital is his home now,” she said with a deep frown on her face but an understanding smile on her face.
“I get it. He is the best cardiologist in the state. He has made a name for himself at such a young age. You must be so proud of him,” Xanthus' mother said, and that lady nodded her head.
“I'm so proud of him, but I wish he focused on his personal life too. I hope he gets married or engaged soon like Xanthus and Erick, but I don't think he is going to get a wife with that temper of his,” she said with a deeply worried look on her face. I could see. She wanted her son to settle down. All the parents want the same thing when their children cross a certain age.
“Don't worry so much, Aunty. I'm sure someone must be made for him who will tame his temper,” Erick said, surprising me. For a second time, I saw him giving someone hope. It made Vivian smile.
“Yeah! I'm sure too. Samuel is such a handsome boy. He will soon find someone. We had lost our hope in Xanthus, and see, he got married today,” Xanthus's mother said while putting her hand on Vivan’s shoulder.
“I pray that day comes soon,” Vivan said with a hopeful look in her eyes. Now I am getting curious about this man. Who is he?
“Don't forget to bring him to our wedding,” Erick said while pulling me closer to his chest.
“Of course I will,” she said while looking at him.
“Please excuse us. We have a very important matter to discuss,” he said with a mischievous smirk on the corner of his lips. Vivian once again grinned and nodded her head. I don't know why my face flushed red. He was giving ideas to the people. He pulled me away from there. I tried to get out of his hold, but he didn't let me get out of it.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked in a hushed tone. We were still around the guest. So I kept my voice low.
“To discuss an important matter,” he said with that mischievous smirk on his face. My brows furrowed when he said that. Something has happened to this man.
“I don't want to discuss any important matters with you,” I said after coming out of my daze.
“But I want to,” he said in his low, husky voice while giving a nod to the guest, who looked at us with a smile. A shiver ran down my spine when he said that. One of the guests smiled, looking at me, and I smiled back.
“Everyone is watching. Let me go,” I said, trying my best to get away from his hold.
“Let them. You are mine, and I have all the rights to hold you in public,” he said, making my heart beat fast. I told you something is wrong with him too. He is not behaving like the arrogant ass he is. Did he hit his head while taking a shower? I think something very serious has happened to our brains. He pulled me into a corner where no one was there. He pressed me to the wall and stood in front of me. Taking away all my private space.
“Now let's talk.”
