“Shh, I'm here to sleep with you.”

We all slept peacefully, even though the sky kept thundering the whole night. The next morning, the sky was clear after a rainstorm. Birds were chirping in happiness. I had woken up early and was now standing on my balcony with my morning coffee in my hand. Sabrina had slipped out of the room early in the morning, and Erick was still sleeping like a baby. I took a sip of my warm coffee while looking at nature around me. I had a long day today. I have to try on my engagement dress.

Aria had firmly instructed me to try it before wearing it to my engagement. She knows how uninterested I am in all this. She worries that if the dress doesn't fit me, I will do my engagement in my jeans and top. Two more days, and then I will have his ring on my finger. That realisation made my chest heavy with an unknown burden and made my shoulder slump. Last night, it flashed in front of my eyes. The things we talked about once again started to echo in my ear. He is in pain. I'm in pain. I moved my head as if taking those thoughts out of my head. I took a deep breath, letting that feeling get out of me. It was too early in the morning, and I didn't want those feelings to make me sad. It was too heavy for me to take it first thing in the morning. For now, I just want to enjoy my coffee and the nature around me. I took one more sip of my steaming coffee, and it instantly calmed my nerves. I was once again enjoying the nature around me when I heard my cell phone ringing. I walked back to my room to get it. I found it on the nightstand. Isabella was calling me. I took the call immediately when I saw Erick moving a bit.

"Hello,” I said while once again walking out of the room and back to the balcony.

“Hey, good morning,” she said breathlessly. I think she came back from her run.

“Good morning,” I replied while taking a sip of steaming coffee.

“I called you to remind you that me and Sage are coming in the afternoon for the dress trial,” she said while taking deep breaths. They have decided to wear a dress from me.

“Yeah, I remember. Sage messaged me yesterday about the time you were coming. I have–” I stopped talking when I felt two big arms getting wrapped around my waist, and then a warm breath fanned my neck. He nuzzled his face against my neck, making tingles travel throughout my whole body. My hold on the cup became strong before it slipped from my hand.

“Hello, Grace, are you there?” Isabella asked when I stopped talking.

"Yes, I'm here.” I stuttered a bit and then took a deep breath to continue talking normally.

“I was saying I have told Aria to take out the best design for you both, and if you want to change something or want—” I stopped once again when I felt him pressing a kiss on the column of my neck and his hands once again started to move inside my top. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. What is he doing? I pushed his hands down and turned my head to glare at him, but it did not affect him. Instead, he pecked my lips in response.

“Grace, do you have a connection problem? Your voice is breaking,” Isabella asked from the other side. The problem here is her cousin, who is not letting me talk properly.

“Yeah, I think. We will talk in detail when you come in the afternoon,” I told her with a sheepish smile on my face.

"Ok, cool,” she said before cutting the call after saying bye. He continued pressing kisses on my neck.

“Erick, what are you doing?” I said, turning around to face him. I kept the mug on the corner so it wouldn't fall. Me turning around gave him more access. He once again buried his face in my neck and continued pressing kisses on my bare skin.

"Erick,” I said more warningly, and it made him look up from my neck.

“I'm continuing when we couldn't complete last night,” he breathed out and once again buried his face in my neck. His hands found their way to my waist, and he pressed his body against mine. My eyes widened when I felt his morning erection pressing on my lower belly. He was so hard.

"Nooo,” I said, and I pushed him away. He was so busy kissing my neck that my actions caught him off guard. I ran straight to the bathroom to get ready for the day. It's too dangerous for me to stay in this room.

"Doll,” he called my name, not liking that I ran away before he could do it.

“How long are you going to keep running from me?” he said in the same voice, and that was the last thing I heard before I closed the door and locked it. I decided to ignore his words, even though my heart was running so fast. I took a deep breath to calm it down before getting ready for the day. I had already taken a shower, so it didn't take me long to get ready. I did minimal makeup and completed it with a cherry red lip gloss. He was tucking his shirt into his pants when I walked out of the bathroom, fully ready. My eyes unknowingly moved to his lower region, and his morning wood was still there. His cold blue eyes glared at me, and his jaw was clenched. He was mad at me. I pressed my lips together, stopping myself from cracking out. Alfred informed us that breakfast was ready. We went down. He followed me with a sulking face. My dad said good morning to us. I would be lying if I said I was not surprised. Erick replied, and I didn't say anything. We had breakfast together, and it was time to leave.

"Ready,” I asked Sabrina, and she stood up with half-eaten toast in her hand.

“Finish your breakfast,” Lilly said when she saw her daughter.

“I'm full. Let's go,” Sabrina said while picking an apple from the other hand.

“I will drop both of you,” Erick said, grabbing the opportunity.

"No, we will take another car, and anyway, her school and my office in other ways. We don't want you to be late for work. Right,  Sab," I refused immediately with a tight smile on my face. I put my hand on Sabrina's shoulder, pulling her to me. She bobbed her head, agreeing with me. His eyes narrowed in my direction when I said that.

"Well, then you don't need to worry because I'm not heading to my office. I will drop you both,” he said firmly, and he turned around to walk away. He didn't even wait for our response. I glared at his back.

“Let's go,” Sabrina said, pulling me out of my thoughts. I nodded my head before waking up. Now we were sitting in his car on our way to Sabrina's school. Like always, I made her sit between us. Her school was not that far from my workplace.

"Bye,” she said cheerfully before getting out of the car. We both waved at her. The car stayed there until she walked inside the gates. As soon as the car started, I was pulled onto my lap, and it got me off guard. My heart thumped loudly inside my chest.

“Now run from me.”
