I just hope it freezes for good.

Last night, I dragged myself to bed. I didn't know when I fell asleep. My whole body gave up when it touched the bed. The next morning, when I woke up, I found the place beside me still empty. I moved my hand to his side and found it cold. He didn't come home last night. Last night flashed in front of my eyes, and gloominess once again gripped my heart. I exhaled deeply and whipped my face with both my hands. I took deep breaths to make me feel a little better. I can't start my day with the same sad feeling. I rested my back on the back and stayed like that until I felt better. It made me feel a little better. I got out of bed and decided to get ready for the day. I expected him to be down having his breakfast, but again, it was empty.

“Should I serve your breakfast?” Fergus asked, noticing my presence. It made me look at him.

“No, I'm getting late,'' I told him with a tight smile on my face, which didn't reach my eyes. I turned around to walk away.

“Then at least have orange juice,” he said, trying to make me drink it.

“No, thank you, Fergus. I will eat something at the office,” I told him without turning back to look at him. I walked out of the house to get my car. I drove to my office. There, I got busy with my work. After work, I need to go to Villian House. I'm going to meet Isabella there. The Sage and Xanthus wedding was only a few days away, so everyone was busy doing their part of the work. His mother and Sage's mother were busy selecting Venus and decorating. Isabella was in charge of the bachelor party. I met her after work, and she told me we were going to get strippers for Sage's bachelorette. I was horrified when she told me that. I don't think Xanthus will approve of this idea.

“Who wants his permission? It's Sage's bachelorette. She deserves to enjoy it,” she said, brushing away that doubt. I was more horrified when she told me Grandma was also going to be a bachelor. I don't know how this party is going to turn out. I hope everything goes smoothly. When I came back home, I didn't find him anywhere. He didn't show up for dinner either. I was searching at a huge table, eating dinner alone. Every morsel I put in my mouth turned into sand in my mouth. I kept the spoon on the plate.

"Fergus,” I called his name, and he appeared immediately.

“Yes,” he said, standing straight in front of me.

“So you want something?” he asked, looking at my expressionless face.

“Where is he?” I asked him straight away. I don't want him to beat around the brush.

“I don't know,” he answered with a deep exhale. I pushed away my half-eaten food. I stood up. I had no appetite left.

“Grace, at least finish your food.” Fergus tried to stop me, but I kept climbing up the stairs. A bubble of anger was rising inside me, but I was trying to suppress it. Who does he think he is to ignore me like that? She has not shown his face since yesterday. My gaze fell on my cell phone. I opened and almost fielded his number, but I didn't press the call button. If he wants to ignore me, why should I call him? I will ignore him too. Angry tears formed in my eyes, but I wiped them with the back of my hands. I got under the covers and switched off the light. I kept sniffing and drinking up my tears until I fell asleep. The next day, when I woke up again, the side beside me was empty. For two days straight, he has not come home. The next few days were not any different. He didn't show his face to me. Today I was so exhausted after work. I had a lot to prepare for the coming fashion week, which was going to be held in Berlin this time. If we are successful at Berlin Fashion Week, then we will go to Paris after two months. My whole schedule was packed, and so I had made myself busy with my work, so I didn't have time to think about things that bothered me. I was the last one to leave the office, as usual.

"Yes, I have mailed the new draft. Let me know how it  is." I was on the phone with Aria when I walked inside the house. Fergus was standing at the door and took my bag from me. I thanked him with a small smile on my face. I sat on the couch, and the maid brought cold water for me. I thanked her and took the glass. I sat there for half an hour, talking with Aria. She was going to make the changes to the designs. I won't have time tomorrow to go to the office. It's Sage and Xanthu's engagement, and then we are going to celebrate her bachelor's, so my whole schedule is packed.

"Yes, call me if you need any help. I will be available on call. Bye,” I said before cutting the call. I closed my eyes and slumped back on the couch, feeling exhausted. I massaged my forehead.

“You look tired. Do you want me to prepare camomile tea for you?” Fergus asked, looking at me. I opened my eyes and sat straight up.

"Yes, please, after dinner,” I said while standing up.

“I will go and freshen up first,” I told him, and he gave me a nod. I grabbed my bag and went to my room. I took a warm shower, and it relaxed my stiff muscles. I had my dinner. I got a call from Aria, so I asked Fergus to send the tea to the bedroom. I once again got busy discussing things with her that I didn't realise had been so late in the night. I cut the call and looked at the wall clock. It was almost past two in the morning. I wanted to sleep so badly, and I was feeling so drowsy and thirsty at the same time. I have been talking nonstop. There was no water in the room. So I decided to go and get it from the kitchen. I was on my way back to the bedroom when I saw the light in his office. He was back. So here is where he sleeps. My hands moved forward, ready to open the door, but I stopped. My jaw clenched, and I decided to walk away.

"Mom.” I heard a muffled cry coming from the room, and it made me stop dead in my tracks. I opened the door without thinking for a second more. I saw him sleeping on the couch. Trying to fit his huge frame on the small couch. His suit blazer was discarded on the chair beside the couch. I slowly walked to him. I kept the bottle on the coffee table. Sweat beads were forming on his face. It looked like he was having a nightmare.

"Mom, please don't go,” a heartbreaking cry once again left his mouth. A big lump formed in the base of my throat, and I slowly moved my hand on his face. His body relaxed when my hand touched his face. I decided to pull my hand when he grabbed it, pulling me onto his chest. His eyes remain closed.

“Please don't go.”
