Things were going well in life until Erick's father showed up at my office.

"Grace" Alice, who is no longer an intern but a full-time employee, knocked on my office door. I was busy doing my designs, but that knock broke my concentration. I gripped the pencil firmly before blowing air out of my mouth.

"Grace, are you in there?" she asked me once again when she didn't hear my response. I could hear hesitation in her tone. She knows not to disturb me now. Even Evelyn and Aria don't bother me when I'm working on designs.

"Yes, come in," I said in my slightly tired voice. I slumped back in my chair, giving little relief to my stiff back, which had been in a hunch position for two hours. A small sign left my mouth. Yes, I have been doing the design nonstop. Work has increased a lot more after fashion week, and my week-long stay in the Paires has piled up my work. She opened the door and put her head first inside to check the office. She looked all over the office before her eyes settled on me. I raised my brow at her. She gave me a big smile.

"There is someone here to meet you," she said, now completely walking inside my office. My brows furrowed even more when she said that. She noticed the displeased look on my face.

"Who is there to meet me today? You know today is Wednesday, and I don't meet people today. Please ask them to leave their business cards and schedule their appointment with me for tomorrow," I told her while moving towards my desk and grabbing my pencil. I was back in my position to complete my design. Ready to finish it. I don't meet anyone on Wednesdays. It is the day for me to focus on my design. I have a lot of workload, and only on Wednesday do I get more time to focus on my design. My team knows my rules. That's why Alice looked so hesitant when she knocked on my office door.

"I told him the same thing, but he wants to meet you. He says it very argent," she said in the same hesitating voice once again, making me look at her.

"He says he is someone you know. He is very persistent. He is refusing to leave without meeting you," she said once again before I could question more. My brows furrowed even more. Someone I know. Who it could be. I exhaled deeply before thinking for a second. Alice says he is very persistent. He won't leave without meeting me. It's better to meet him and then send him away so I can focus on my work.

"Ok, send him in. I didn't have much time," I told her in a firm tone, and she nodded her head.

"Ok, I will send him right away," she said with a nod before walking away. I decided to look at my designs until then.

"I think I need to make some changes at the midsection of the dress. Why do shoulder straps? I'm so wired," I mumbled under my breath. The more I looked at it, the more it looked weird to me. It was looking just fine a few minutes ago. I was busy looking at the paper when my cell phone rang. My husband was calling me. A small smile formed on my face. Why the hell am I smiling? I immediately cleared my throat and stopped smiling.

"Hmm," I hummed after picking up the call and balancing it between my shoulder and head. I heard his deep breath, and it did something to me. I bit on my lower lip while still pretending to look at the paper. As if he were watching me with his cold blue eyes.

"Did you eat your lunch?" he asked me, and that's when it made me look at my wristwatch. It was past lunchtime, and I didn't notice it because I was so busy with my work.

"No," I answered while chewing on my lower lip. I could hear him exhaling as if he knew. It made me chew more on my lower lip.

"Grace," Alice knocked on my office door, making me look at her.

"He is here," she said while opening the door wide. My eyes widened when I saw who was standing there. I was so stunned to find him standing in my office. What is he doing to her? In my office.

"Doll," I heard Erick taking my name, and my eyes widened even more. I forgot I was still on a call with him.

"I will be-" He was about to say something, but I didn't let him complete it.

"Erick, I'm in between an important meeting right now. I will call you later," I said and cut the call before he could say anything. If he gets to know John Villian, his father, is here, he will take my entire office on his head. Why the hell didn't I ask Alice for his name before meeting him? I cut the call and then stood up from my seat. I could hear him saying something, but I still cut the call.

"You can go, Alice," I told her in a firm tone with a curt nod. She nodded her head before walking away and closing the door on her way. He walked inside my office with a small smile. I didn't return that smile. My face remained expressionless.

"I heard from your assistant that you are very busy today. I'm sorry for disturbing you with my unannounced presence," he said while walking towards my desk. I took a deep breath.

"What are you doing here, Mr. Villain?" I asked in a curt tone. I came straight to the point. What did he want to talk to me so urgently that made him come to my office?

"I'm here to meet you," he said, and my brows furrowed when he said that.

"I know Erick will not be happy if I meet you at his home, so I had no choice but to come see you here," he said with that small smile still on his lips. I had never seen him offering a smile before. It seemed like he wanted to make the situation light because his presence had already pumped the tension in the air. My cell phone rang again. Erick was calling me again. I cut the call.

"Mrs. Villain, let's come to the point why you want to meet me," I asked straight away. I don't want to keep beating around the brush.

"Don't worry, I won't take you lots of time," he said once again with that smile. He opened his mouth to say something when the door of my office was opened, and it seemed like time stopped moving. Erick was standing at the door. Tension in the air became unbearable.

What perfect timing he chose to show up.
