Not anymore.
“Yes, this is how I'm going to take care of myself,” I said with tears running down my face. I tried so hard to hold them back, but at this point, I couldn't. He not even once tried to understand why I didn't eat my food. He just started yelling at me. His cold blue eyes narrowed in my way when I said that.
“If you can't see it, then it would be better if we separate now,” I said in a firm tone with tears gushing out of my eyes. His cold blue eyes widen with even more coldness in them.
“What did you say?” he asked with a disbelieving look in his eyes. I don't know why he was finding it so hard to believe. After all, he didn't want a baby, and I was giving him a good chance to back out because he didn't look interested in me.
“You heard it,” I said with tears slipping from the corner of my eyes. It was hurting me even to repeat those words. His nose flared in anger, and he let me go immediately. I felt cold when he did that.
“How easy is it for you to say those things? How easy it is for you, he said in his slightly shaky voice. I saw tears building up in his eyes, but he fought them. Not letting them surface in his cold blue eyes. I saw the pain in them, and it hurt me. I have unknowingly hurt him.
“Erick.” I took his name when he took a step back, but he showed me his palm. He looked up and took a deep breath to control his emotions. He nodded his head as if coming to a conclusion about something.
“Do whatever you want. I won't interfere in your life anymore. You are free to live your life however you want,” he said with a painful smile on his face, and my heart was gripped in a tight grip when he said that. I didn't know the weight of the words I said until this moment.
“Don't worry. I will make sure you don't have to see my face anymore,” he said with the same painful smile on his face. My eyes widened, and sudden fear gripped my heart even more tightly. He turned around and started to walk away, and it felt like my life was walking away from me. My whole body started to shake, and I just didn't know what to do anymore.
“Erick,” I took his name in my weak, trembling voice, but he kept walking away. My legs shook as I took steps in his direction to stop him. My legs fumbled, and my vision became blurry.
“Erick,” I called his name before I fell. Suddenly, two firm hands wrapped around me, and I was pulled to a firm chest.
“Don't leave me,” I mumbled on his chest with tears running down my face. I held him so tightly. His hands firmly wrapped around me as if his life depended on it.
“I'm not going anywhere. I'm here, he said while pressing a kiss on my temple. I closed my eyes, feeling his lips on the side of my forehead.
“Please don't leave me,” I said in my trembling voice.
“Shhh, I'm here. I'm not going anywhere, he repeated to calm me. Tears falling out of my eyes have drenched his shirt. He moved his hand in soothing circles on my back. My tense body slowly started to relax in his embrace. His intoxicating scent engulfed me, and my disturbed mind started to calm down little by little. I don't know how long he kept holding me, calming my sacred heart. I sobbed when he broke the hug and cupped my face with his hands. The rough pad of his thumb wiped my tears while he rested his forehead over mine.
“I'm sorry. I should not have shouted at you,” he said while pressing a kiss on my nose. More tears fell from my eyes when he apologised. One thing was clear. He was scared of something. He was so worried about it that it was making him behave so differently. Why was he hiding it from me? I wanted to ask him, but it didn't feel like the right time. I took a deep breath, and a small smile formed on the corner of my lips.
“I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have said those things," I said with a small sob. I didn't even want to repeat that word. His chest tightened even when I mentioned it.
“Never say it again,” he said while holding my cheeks firmly. I nodded my head. He wiped my tears and then pressed his lips all over my face, making my heart feel warm too.
“Come, let's eat dinner. You, too, must be hungry, he said and then pecked my lips. A small smile formed on my face. I nodded my head yes. He took me to the dining table. He made me sit on his lap instead of on my chair. I didn't protest.
“Fergus,” he called, and he immediately appeared in a few minutes.
“Y—yes, sir,” he said while looking at him.
“Bring the dinner,” he said, and Fergus immediately nodded his head before walking away. Food was on the table soon, and my stomach grumbled. I was so hungry. He started to feed me.
“You eat too,” I said when he kept feeding me. He started to eat too.
“No, I'm full,” I said when he brought a spoonful of rice and lamb sauce to my mouth.
“Last bite,” he said, making me open my mouth.
“I can't eat any more now,” I said, and then he made me drink water. I had my dinner sitting in his lap, and he kept feeding me even though I was full. Surprisingly, when he fed me, I never felt like puking. Maybe the baby likes it when his daddy feeds him. I wanted to say it, but I stopped myself.
He needs time, and I should give him time.
