What is happening to me?

“Grace, oh my god," Evelyn's panic-filled voice drummed in my ears. She held my body in a firm hold, supporting it. I tried to control it, but it felt like no power was left inside me. I opened and closed my eyes once again. Trying my best to clear the blurriness from my eyes. She once again put the glass of water on my lips.

“Drink it,” she said while still supporting my body with her. I slowly opened my mouth and drank the cold water. I pushed her hand away after two gulps. I can't drink anymore. I felt so wired inside me. She kept away from the glass, not forcing me to drink more.

“Grace, come stand up. You need to lie down,” she said while pulling me up. I used all the remaining strength inside me and stood up with her help. She took me to the couch in my office and made me lie on it. Everything was still spinning in front of my eyes. My vision is still blurry.

“Send glucose pills immediately to Grace's office," I heard Evelyn saying on the call while she stood beside me, making sure I didn't fall. I could feel consciousness slipping through my fingertips.

“What's wrong?” I heard Arias' voice next.

“What happened to her?” she asked, looking at me.

“Give me the pill. I will explain everything later,” Evelyn said, and then I felt her pushing a pill inside my mouth. My dry mouth now is sweet because of the pill. Slowly, I started to feel better, and Evelyn filled Aria with the story while I was regaining my strength back. The pill melted in my mouth, leaving a very bad taste. I just hate it. It makes me remember the day when I used to so desperately try to lose weight. I often used to not eat my food till the point I lost consciousness.

"Water,” I whispered with my dry mouth. They heard it even though my voice was so low. Evelyn was immediately on my side while Aria was filling the glass of water for me. I drank the water, and it felt like life was returning to my limbs. I slowly sat up when I felt better.

“What happened?” Aria asked, looking at my pale face. She sat beside me while rubbing her warm palm on my cold arm.

“I just don't know. One second, I was talking with Evelyn, and the very next second, everything started going spine in front of my eyes.

“It's all happening because you are taking so much stress. There is already lots of work pressure, and if you take more stress, your body will collapse again,” Evelyn said softly while covering my hand.

“She is right to stop stressing so much," Aria said, too, making me exhale deeply.

“I don't know how both father and son showed up at the same time. It's not the first time it has happened," I said while holding my head with both my hands. Every time his father has approached me, he shows up mysteriously. I exhaled once again.

“You didn't have lunch, right?” Aria asked, suddenly making me look at her with raised brows.

“Erick was here with lunch for you. Alice told me when I was coming here. I will ask her to bring it here,” she said while taking her cell phone out, but I stopped her.

“I'm not hungry,” I said. I have lost my appetite. I was trying not to think of it, but still, his thoughts were worrying me.

“You are going to eat your food,” Evelyn said sternly and then asked Alice to bring it. How can I eat it? He must be hungry too. Even that thought was eating me up. They both made me finish my food even though I didn't want to. I constantly kept looking at my cell phone, waiting for his call, but he didn't call me. I tried to distract myself with work, but I just couldn't concentrate. Every second felt like an hour to me. Only I know how I kept sitting in a chair restlessly. On my way back home, I kept calling him, but once again, it went to voice message. I called his secretary in frustration and asked about his whereabouts, only to find out that he was not at the office. Where the hell is he?

"Fergus,” I called him as soon as I was home. He immediately appeared in front of me.

“Is Erick home?” I asked him, and I knew even he could sense the restlessness in my voice.

“No, is there a problem?” he asked worriedly. I exhaled deeply and moved my head in no.

“Inform me as soon as he is home,” saying that I walked to my room. The blue sky turned black, but I still kept waiting for him. I have called his number countless times, and it always goes to that damn voicemail. Fergus called me for dinner, but my appetite had died a long time ago. It was past midnight, and he was still not there. I was walking into the room in distress when the door of the bedroom opened. He walked in with his jacket on his shoulder. My eyes widened when I saw his bruised face.

"Erick.” I walked to him and held his face with both my hands.

“What happened to your face?” I asked, eyeing the bruises on his lip, chin, and jaw. It looked like he fought with someone, and my eyes widened in realization. His ice-cold eyes kept looking at me.

“You went to the ring,” I asked in disbelief. He had promised me a long time ago that he would never go there again. Tears welled up in my eyes.

“You swore on our unborn child, but you broke the promise,” I said with welled-up eyes. His jaw clenched, but he didn't say anything. I saw guilt in his eyes. He remembered it but still chose to break it because our child is not in this world. My heart shattered.

He broke the promise.
