“I will never let even a scratch come on you both.”
“I know,” I whispered while hugging him tightly. After we broke the hug, he wiped my cheeks with his thumb and then cupped my face. He pressed his lips to mine and pecked my lips with passion. I could feel the love in every stroke of his lips. My heart warmed at his warm touch. It felt like he was kissing my soul, and now no berries were left between us. No more bitterness, and no more misunderstandings. In this moment it was only him and me, and I want to embrace this moment forever. I kissed him back with the same passion, pouring my all love into it. He made a loud smooching sound when we parted our lips. The corner of my lips curled upwards when he did that. He then kissed all over my face, making me chuckle. He smiled too and made me happy. Once he was done with his kissing session, I went to the bathroom and changed my clothes. I wore my nightdress and did my nightly routine before returning to the room. He had already changed and was lying in bed. I walked to him and lay down beside him.
He engulfed me in his warm embrace. I turned around and smiled lazily at him. He smiled back and then kissed my forehead. I moved my body forward and cut the remaining distance between us. I rested my face on his chest and wrapped my arm around his torso. He held me firmly to his chest. I was so exhausted that I ended up falling asleep in his arms immediately. The next day, I felt much better than yesterday, and Erick fed me my breakfast before going to work. He had taken that responsibility on himself. He worries that I will take my medicine with juice. Somehow the medicine the doctor gave me has reduced the pain I felt during my morning sickness. It still hurt but the pain was bearable. Today, I wanted to go to the office, but Erick asked me not to until we did the sonography. He doesn't want me to take unnecessary stress or anything. So until then, I'm going to work from home. I have been constantly working on new projects. It's now been two days since I came to know everything. I was eager to be done with sonography because I wanted to be back at the office. I had meetings lined up with clients.
“Yes, I hope I will come to the office after tomorrow,” I told Evelyn. I was on call with her for the past hour.
“The new client wants to meet you personally and discuss her dress design with you. She wants you to design all her wedding event outfits,” she told me from the other side of the call. This new client is very important. She is a renowned name in the business industry. I was shocked when Evelyn told me she wanted me to design her dress. She could have chosen the best designer to do that, but she chose me. I felt lucky, and I didn't want to let that opportunity go. My baby has brought lots of luck to me. I caressed my flat stomach with a smile on my face.
“Grace, are you listening?” she asked when I didn't reply to her. She pulled me out of my thoughts. I was about to reply to her when I felt hands wrapping around my waist, and then he nuzzled in my neck. He is early today.
"Grace, are you still there?” Evelyn asked me once again when I didn't reply.
“Yeah, I am. Just send her the drafts and see if she asks for something else. Fix our meeting for Thursday,” I told her and stuttered a bit when he kissed my neck. She said okay before I cut the call. I was standing on the balcony while talking to her. The cold breeze ruffled my hair, making me shiver slightly, but the warmth of his body kept me warm.
“You are early today,” I asked while resting my head on his chest. He continued pressing a kiss on my neck.
“I wrapped up things early today,” he said before pressing a kiss below my ear. It made me take a jiggering breath. It's been more than a week since we touched each other.
“Did you eat your lunch on time?” he asked me as if he didn't know. Since that day, he had strictly instructed Fergus to look after my meals, and if I refused to eat, he should call him immediately. If I had not had lunch, he would have been here in the afternoon. I took a deep breath. Still, he wanted to listen to my mouth.
"Hmmm," I hummed while my eyes kept looking at the sky, which was now coloured into shades of yellow and orange. It was the end of another day. We kept standing there watching the sunset together. We stayed there until the sun completely disappeared and the sky slowly started to turn black. The whole world was shifting around us, but we kept standing in each other's arms. Embracing the beauty of the evening. After ages, I felt a slight peace in my heart. It felt like things were finally falling into place. I took a deep breath, and his intoxicating scent entered my nose. It always makes me feel things. Whenever he wraps his arms around me, it brings back the feeling of being protected. Protected from all the evil things. It gives me a sense of happiness, and I feel like I can now conquer the whole world. His simple gesture gave me a whole world. It gives me new strength to fight against all odds. Fight for us against everything. I had already let go of all my worries when he promised to protect us. I believe him with my heart. I took one more deep breath, and his alluring scent calmed my whole body.
I wanted the time to stop, and I stayed like this forever in his arms.
