I just don't have it.

The rest of the dinner we had was in silence. I excused myself immediately as soon as I was done eating my food. I said good night and retreated to my room. I lay down in bed, recalling the conversation I had with my father. I was lost in it for hours and hours. I twisted and turned in my bed until sleep came to my eyes, forcing me to stop overthinking. The next morning, I woke up at my usual time. I checked my cell phone only to find ten missed calls from Erick. Thank God I had my cell phone on silent. He just won't let me breathe in silence. I had quite a message from him asking me to call him back, and some were telling me to be ready until twelve. I ignored all of them and walked into the bathroom to take a shower. Today, my period was over, and I was happy. I removed my top only to see the blue marks of hockey he left on me. From the second I opened, my only thoughts were going on in my head.

“So I have to give you memories that make you remember my stupid face every moment. I'll be the first thing you think about when you wake up and the last before you close your eyes."

Suddenly, what he said echoed in my ears. I moved my head as if it would remove his voice, which was continuously repeating in my head. Only a hot shower will help me now. I took a hot shower and then had my breakfast with everyone. Even my father was present at the table. Sabrina gave us a verbal schedule of things we were supposed to do today. Today she has chosen a stitch-hooded matching onesie for us. I discovered she loves onesies. We were playing games in the living room on PS.

“Hit it before it disappears," Sabrina shouted, and I pressed the button.

“Do it!” she shouted in agitation.

“I'm doing it. I'm doing it,” I said a little nervously, pressing the button hard even before the next demon appeared. It was now her turn.

“You are messing with the wrong person,” she yelled and then pressed the button hard until she killed it.

"Yeah, take it!” she shouted, making us win again. We both jumped up wearing stitched onesies, celebrating our win again. We have been doing this for so long that I have lost track of time. We were in the middle of the celebration when Alfred appeared with someone.

“She is here,” I heard him say, and it made me turn around to look. I found Erick standing there wearing his crisp suit. I noticed an amused look in his cold blue eyes when he noticed what I was wearing.

“Hello girls,” he said with an amused smile still on his face. I don't know why, but my face turned a little red.

“Erick”, Sabrina called his name at the top of her lungs and ran to hug him. He hugged her back.

“How are you, kiddo?” he said, to which she answered cheerfully.

“Erick” Lilly walked into the living room.

“Alfred informed me you are here. Please take a seat. I will ask Alfred to bring refreshments,” she said with a welcoming smile on her face.

"No, thank you. I'm here to take Grace with me,” he said, giving her one of his genuine smiles.

“To take her with you,” her brows furrowed. “You can't take her with you until you get engaged, silly. She found a way to stay with us until then.” Sabrina chuckled while looking at him. I pressed my lips together, stopping myself from smiling when she called him silly.

“I'm not here to take her to my house. I'm here to take her shopping for our engagement ring. I had told her to be ready by twelve, but it seems she had forgotten it,” he said while ruffling her already messy hair while looking at me.

“It's not Grace's fault. It must have slipped out of her mind because my little devil has been keeping her busy since morning,” Lilly said while siding with me.

"No, you can't take her. We are in between sister-to-sister bonding." Sabrina protested, and that's what I wanted her to do. I don't want to go with this cold, blue-eyed devil.

"Sabrina, you and continue your sister-to-sister bonding when she is back. They have to go shopping. Darling, they need rings for their engagement day,” she explained to her. She pouted, and her shoulder slumped. An idea popped up in my head.

“Sabrina, if you want, you can join us. You can help me choose my engagement ring. It's also sister-to-sister bonding,” I told her, and her eyes lit up. Erick didn't like that idea very much. I could tell it from the look on his face.

“I will go and get ready." She ran to her room to change her clothes. Lilly moved her head, looking at her daughter. I, too, went and changed my clothes until he waited down for us. I had not brought much clothing, so I took out a pair of baggy jeans and a khaki-ribbed racer-back top. I kept it simple. I applied sunscreen and minimal makeup. Sabrina was already down there waiting for me. His eyes moved all over my frame while I was climbing down the stairs.

“Let's go,” I said, not liking the way his eyes stayed a little too long on my chest with a smirk on the corner of his lips. He was indirectly making me remember what he did to me a day ago. I made Sabrina sit between us, and I saw how his jaw clenched looking at the arrangement. The whole ride to the shop was filled with Sabrina's endless stories. His driver stopped in front of Tiffany and Co. Mister Showoff.

“Wow,” Sabrina said, looking at the glass building. We got down and headed inside. I kept my distance from us. He was about to grab my waist and me from him when I used Sabrina as a shield. It made him keep his hand to himself. We were welcomed inside by the manager.  He greeted Erick with a name, so he knew we were coming.

“Sabrina, you can choose a ring for me,” I told her. She was a bit sceptical, but I insisted she chose. Erick didn't like the idea, but I don't care. She selected an elegant-looking square-cut ring with a silver band. It was good, but the diamond was too big for my liking.

“Don't you think diamonds are too big?” I said to Sabrina with a sheepish smile on my face.

“But aren't engagement rings supposed to have big diamonds?” she questioned innocently. I signed how I should explain to her.

“Yes, they are. I like your choice,” he said to Sabrina, which brought a big smile to her face.

“Please pack this,” he said to the Salesman before I could protest.

“Sabrin, why don't you choose a ring for yourself while I have a word with your sister?” he said in a calm tone, but I could hear the edge of his voice.

"Really?” Sabrina asked in disbelief.

"Yes, and it's not a problem if the diamond is bigger than your sister. Choose anything you want,” he said, making my eyes go wide.

What is he up to?

“Let's go,” he said sternly while taking my hand and dragging me. God knows where.

“Erick, I don't want to go anywhere with you,” I protested, trying to get my hand out of his hold, but he made his grip tight and ignored my protest.

“Where is the restroom?” he asked one of the salesmen sternly. He gulped in fear and pointed at the end of the corridor. What he said next made my eyes widen in horror.

“Make sure no one disturbs us"
