“Now let's talk.”

“Tell me what's bothering you so much,” he asked in his serious voice. He placed his one hand above my head and leaned down slightly so our faces were on the same level. His blue eyes moved all over my face, and my heart kept thumping loudly inside my rib cage. His intoxicating scent engulfed me once again. I couldn't even take deep breaths to relax my wildly beating heart. I took a deep, jagged breath when he questioned that. Doesn't he know what is bothering me? I was done fighting with myself in my head. I exhale deeply.

“It's you who is bothering me,” I said while huffing in annoyance and confusion. He smirked when I said that, making me narrow my eyes at him.

“Me!” He said as if that was a big surprise for him.

“Please elaborate. I would like to know how I'm bothering you,” he said in his husky voice while leaning down even more so that only a few centimetres of distance were left between our mouths. I glared at him even more. He wants to know I will tell him.

"See, this is how you have been bothering me. From the moment I opened my eyes, you have been all over me and—” I said in annoyance, but he didn't let me complete the rest of the sentence. He slammed his lips on me. My eyes widened when he did that. I didn't miss how he smirked before pressing his lip to mine. He knew exactly how he was bothering me. He knew the effect his touch was having on me. He knew everything very well, and he brought me here so he could kiss me. It was too late for me to realise it. He was the devil, after all. His hand, which was on the side of my waist, started to move up, and then he pressed my breast softly over my dress.

“Hmmm,” I moaned when he did that. My dress didn't have any pads, so only a thin cloth was separating his hand from touching my bare breast. I felt my nipple getting hard and rubbing against the cloth. I should have pushed him away, but my hands refused to do that. It openly accepted his warm kiss. See, I told you something is wrong with me. Old Grace would have pushed him away and stopped his feet, but here I was, letting him kiss me like a madman. He sucked on my lower lips before moving down and pressing warm kisses all over my exposed, cold skin. My breath heaved when he did that. He pressed a kiss over the throbbing nerve on my neck and moved down. Tracing path down my cleavage. My brain has stopped working at this moment. He pulled down my dress a little, exposing the upper part of my breast. He pressed his wet, warm lips on my skin, and I shivered. My breath hitched, and my heart thumped so loudly. We were still in public when someone saw us like this. I was already averting my eyes when I saw people looking at me with a teasing look. I will die if someone catches us like this. This man had no shame. He would smile proudly shamelessly if someone teased him, but I had shame. My hand moved in his hair, and I pulled back before his lips could any further. He groaned in displeasure when I did that. His cold blue eyes were filled with desire. My breath became even more shallow.

“Stop it,"  I said pleadingly in my small, timid voice.

“I don't want to,” he said in his dominating voice, looking straight into my eyes. I was drowning in the ocean of his cold blue eyes.

“Someone will see us,” I said, using the same excuse. I was running out of excuses now.

“Then let's find an empty room for us,"  he said cunningly, making me gasp in disbelief. My hands shivered slightly when he said that, but I didn't lose my hold on his hair. I moved my head in no time.

“Not now,” I said once again in my small voice. Knowing well that if I refused to say I didn't want to go anywhere with him, then he would not waste his time and pick me up on his shoulder and lock us in the empty room. I have to be careful and find a way out of this devil's grip.

“Then when?” he asked me in the same dominating voice, not liking it when I refused.

“When we are in our bedroom alone. There will be no one to disturb us,” I said softly while cupping his face with my other hand, adding more possessive words to make him believe me. I added ours for more effect, and it's working. It was the only way to get out of his hold.

“Ok,” he said immediately, agreeing with me. My eyes widened in surprise when he agreed to me so fast. I blinked my eyes, still not believing it.

“Then let's go to our house,"  he said with a genuine smile on his face.

“We can, you know. We have to first congratulate Xanthus and Sage and then go and see my dad before going to the house,” I said softly, trying to make him understand. His brows furrowed when I said that. My heart was thumping loudly. What if he doesn't agree? I bit on my lower lip slightly in distress.

“Ok then, let's hurry up,"  he said, making my eyes widen in surprise. After that, he was like a man on a mission. We met the newlywed couple, and after that, he made me eat food. I changed my clothes because I can't go to the hospital in a gown. He didn't like it when I changed clothes. We went to the hospital to see my dad. He looked much better now. The doctor was doing a check-up when we entered. Lily smiled tiredly at us when she saw us. The doctor said he was recovering and they would discharge him in two days. Erick went to talk with the doctor about his medicine. I sat beside a tired Lily on the empty chair.

“You look so tired,” I said while looking at her. I grabbed a few sandwiches on my way, knowing very well. She would not have eaten anything. I opened the wrapper and gave it to her.

“I'm good.” She sighs and then takes it. I know she was hungry but too scared to leave my dad alone to go eat something. She has not left my dad's side since last night. She needs a rest.

“Lily, you should go home and rest. I will stay here for tonight,” I told her in a firm tone. She stopped eating and looked at me.

“Grace, how can I leave your dad alone? What if he needs something? I need to be here to look after him,” she said, refusing to go home and rest.

“I will be here to look after him. You should go home and rest. I don't want you to fall sick,” I said with a concerned look in my eyes.

“But how can you? You just got married—” She tried to oppose the idea when I covered my hand with mine. She didn't want to leave my dad alone. I could see in her eyes.

“Don't you trust me?” I asked while looking into her eyes. She exhaled deeply while looking into my eyes. She slowly nodded her head, finally agreeing with me.

“No, finish your sandwich. I will ask Erick to drop you at home,” I said with a smile on my lips. She smiled and continued eating. Erick walked to us after five minutes. He looked down at me with his heated eyes.

“Ready to leave?” he asked in an eager voice. I remember the things I said before we left. I bit on my lower lip in distress, and it made him furrow his brows in confusion. He smiled slightly at me when I didn't say anything. I exhaled deeply, and as soon as I told him a change in plan, the smile on his lips turned grim.

“I'm staying here for the night.”
