What perfect timing he chose to show up.

“What the hell is he doing here?” he asked sternly while looking at his father. I saw the muscles in his jaw twitch in anger when he looked at him. His cold blue eyes moved from his father and settled on me. There was an accusing glint in his eyes. I felt like the air was pumped out of my lungs when he looked at me like that. The anger and hatred he had for his father were visible in every bit of almost right movement of his body. He hates him more than anything in this world.

“I--I"—I couldn't form words because I was caught off guard. I was not expecting both of them to be here. Their arrival was unexpected. I don't even know why his father was here. Why am I even in this situation?

"Erick," his father took his name, but he behaved as if he didn't hear it. My eyes moved to him, and I could see he didn't want the situation to turn out like this.

“Did you call him here?” he asked with the same sternness while looking straight into my eyes. He ignored his father. My eyes widened when he said that. That accusing tone was still there in his question. My heart was beating fast with unknown fear.

"No—” I was about to deny it when his father talked.

“She didn't call me, nor did she know I was coming here to meet you,” his father said in a firm tone. Erick didn't look at him when he talked. The only evidence that he heard his father is that his face became more stoic.

“Grace asked him to leave,” Erick said, looking straight into my eyes. The coldness in his voice was enough to freeze Antarctica once again.

“Why can't you say it to my face with your mouth?” his father asked in the same tone while looking at his son. His nose flared in anger when he said that.

"Now,” Erick once again said while looking at me. I could see how his fingers curled and formed a fist. I know how bad his anger is. If he loses his control, it will become hard to control him. Before he does something rash, I have to do something.

“Mr. Villain, please," I said pleadingly because his father is as stubborn as him. I don't want the past to repeat itself. It's better if he leaves. He looked at me and then took a deep breath.

“You don't have to. I will leave,” he said with a softness in his voice.

“I didn't want to create a scene by coming here. I'm sorry for all the inconvenience I have caused you,” he said with a small apologetic smile on his face. I pressed my lips on a thin line when he said that. I don't know what to say. He didn't even wait for a second after that. He turned around and left immediately. I moved my eyes from his retreating to Erick's face. Who was still standing there with a burning anger on his face?

"Erick,” I took his name. He looked like he was lost in something. I moved from behind my desk and started to walk towards him.

"Erick," I called his name once again, and it pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked at me with his empty eyes. Before I could stand in front of him, he turned around and walked away without saying anything.

"Erick,” I called him again and ran behind him. Evelyn, who saw everything, followed me as well. He was already inside the elevator even before I could stop him.

"Grace,” Evelyn called me. I immediately ran towards the stairs, and Evelyn followed me closely. I reached the parking lot only to find him driving out of it.

“Erick!” I shouted his name, but I don't think he heard it with the loud roaring of his car's engine. Tears welled up in my eyes. Evelyn held my shoulder in a firm hold.

"Grace, let him be. Let him cool down his anger,” Evelyn said, stopping me from going to my car.

“Evelyn, he is driving in anger. You know how bad his anger is,” I told her with welled-up eyes. His face softened when I said that. She could see worry in my eyes.

“Erick is a grown man, Grace. He knows what he is doing. Don't worry so much. Give him time. Let him clear his head. In the end, he will come to you because you are his home,” she said, trying to make me understand. A tear slipped from the corner of my eyes. I still had the urge to follow him, but I still nodded my head. His father is the most triggering part of his life. The chapter, which he had always chosen to keep locked. Even the thought of touching it makes him go on a rampage. Even in the past, he had found out his father had approached me, and he became so mad. Mad to the point he came every day with lots of bruises on his face and body. For him, it was the only way to take his anger out. Evelyn took me back to my office and made me drink water while I called Erick. I know Evelyn said to give him some time, but I just couldn't help with the restlessness I felt. I wanted to hear his voice. I want to know he is safe.

“Grace, relax," Evelyn said after she made me drink water.

“Take deep breaths,” she said while taking my cell phone. I took a deep breath while closing my eyes and pushing back my hair with both my hands. Suddenly everything around me started to spin. I held my head more firmly, not knowing what was happening to me.

"Grace,” Evelyn immediately held my shoulder before I could fall on my face. I opened and closed my eyes while tears slipped from my eyes.

What is happening to me?
