I wish happiness stays with us for as long as possible.

"I'm going to call everyone and invite them for dinner. I'm so happy," Isabella's mother said excitedly while looking at me lovingly. Of course, she is. It's going to be the first child in the house after two and a half decades.

"I'm so eager to know if it's a girl or a boy," she said dreamily while looking at us, and it made me chuckle.

"Well, it can be a girl and boy or two girls or two boys," Erick said, telling them indirectly we are expecting twins. Their eyes widened when they realized it.

"Oh my god," Isabella's mother said with a gasp and excitement dancing in her eyes. I smiled looking at her reaction. For the first time, I felt like people around me were happy for us. It made tears well up in my eyes.

"Oh, my lord. Thank you for blessing my kids with so much happiness." Grandma sent thank-you prayers to her god before engulfing me in a tight hug. Tears fell out of my eyes when she patted my back.

"I'm so happy that I can die in peace," Grandma said, and more tears fell from my eyes.

"Grandma," I whined, not liking what she said.

"Grandma, please don't say such things," Erick said in a firm tone, neither liking it.

"Mom, you are still young, and you have to see the kids of all your grandchildren. Please don't say such things" Isabella's mother too said with a tone of disliking. She chuckled and then nodded her head. I hugged her more tightly, not wanting her to leave us for more hundred years.

"You both are staying for dinner, and I'm calling everyone for dinner. Tonight is going to be full of celebration," Isabella's mother said while picking up her cell phone to call everyone.

"You must be tired," Grandma said while moving her hand in my hair. I was still hugging her.

"Hmm," I hummed because I was. I wanted to sleep for a few hours.

"Erick, take her to your room and let her rest there," Grandma said in a firm tone. Yes, Erick had his room here, and he used to stay here on weekends with them or whenever he came back home for the holidays. He didn't come home much, and Isabella always used to complain about saying it. I pretended that I was not interested in knowing his whereabouts, but deep down, I wanted her to tell me everything. Is he happy? Has he moved on? Does he have a new girlfriend? Did he propose to her? Does he sometimes think about me? Did he ask her about me? Does he even remember me, or is it just his ugly past, which he had buried deep a long time ago? All those thoughts come to the tip of my tongue, but I never let them out of my mouth. My pride never let me because deep down, I knew I was his past and had no place in his future.

"Doll, let's go." I felt Eric's hand on my shoulder, and it pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Hmm," I hummed and then blinked away all the tears from my eyes.

"Go, my child. Take a good rest, and your grandma will make delicious food for you," she said while once again moving her hand in my hair. I nodded my head.

"Isabella, what do you want to eat for lunch? Tell me I will cook for you," she said while looking at me. She cooks the best. My mouth already started to water thinking about the food she makes.

"I want to eat spaghetti with meatballs," I said with a sheepish smile on my face, and she chuckled. She knew I would say that. It's my favourite if she cooks.

"With extra sauce," she said with one more chuckle, and I nodded my head with that sheepish smile still on my face. After that, we went to his room. It was my first time stepping into his room. It had his minimal things because he didn't stay here a lot. I walked to take a look at pictures that were hanging on the wall. It was a family picture and what surprised me was his mother was also there in the picture. They both were smiling at the camera, and it brought a smile to my face. The mischievous look in his eyes made me wonder if our son would look like him when he smiled. Erick came and stood behind me while wrapping his arm around me.

"When was this picture taken?" I asked curiously. Erick seems like he was five or six.

"It was taken on my sixth birthday," he told me and then rubbed his nose on the column of my neck. It gave a slight shiver in my spine, and it made me hold his hands tightly. Nowadays even his mere touch makes me feel things.

"Come take some rest," he said while pulling away before things could escalate into something more. I noticed he refrained from touching me. He yearns for me, but I know he is scared to touch me, thinking it would hurt me or our babies. I could see it in his eyes. He took me to bed. I lay down on the bed, and then he covered me with a blanket. He was about to walk away when I held his hand. Stopping him from going away.

"Lay down with me," I said with a small pout on my lips. I wanted him to stay beside me all the time. He chuckled and then, hunching down, pecked my lips. He removed his jacket before slipping under the blanket with me. I turned around and snuggled in his warm chest. He wrapped his arms protectively around me.

"My doll," he said, then pressed a kiss on my head, making my lips stretch wide. I felt so safe in his arms. So protected.

I wish to stay in his arms forever.
