I wanted the time to stop, and I stayed like this forever in his arms.

The rest of the day, I stayed in his arms, not wanting to break the piece I was feeling inside me. It ended with me sleeping in his arms without any worries. Today I woke up with another morning sickness hitting me. I ran to the bathroom, and Erick followed me immediately. I emptied my gut. It left me fully exhausted. He helped me after that. It has now become a daily routine for us. I prayed this morning. The sickness phase ends soon, and I get rid of the pain I feel when I puke. It drains all my energy, leaving me all tired for the day. Today I am tired and nervous because we are going to the doctor for sonography. She is also going to do some extra tests on me. I don't know what the doctor will say after she is done with all the tests on me. It was making me extra nervous. I don't know what will happen today, but I hope and pray that everything goes fine.

"God, please be on my side today," I mumbled under my breath while looking up with closed eyes.

"Please let my baby be healthy. Please," I prayed with both of my fingers intertwined with each other.

"Ready," Erick asked when he was back in the living room once he was done taking his important call.

"Yeah," I said with a smile while standing up. I know he noticed me praying but didn't say anything.

"Then let's go," he said while interwinding our fingers with each other.

"I hope everything goes fine," I said to him while we walked to the car. He looked at me and gave a heart-melting smile.

"I'm sure that everything will be fine," he said with a confident look in his eyes. The confidence in his eyes gave me courage too. It made me feel confident. I took a deep breath and nodded before we sat in the car. It took us an hour to reach the hospital with traffic. The nurse took us to the doctor's office.

"Please wait until the doctor is done checking the patient," she said with a polite smile.

"Thank you," Erick said, and I returned her smile before she walked away. Erick kept holding my hand in a firm grip, but I couldn't help but still feel the bubbles of nervousness in my stomach. I kept constantly moving my toe up and down. Erick kept his hand over my leg, stopping me. I looked at him with furrowed brows.

"Take a deep breath, doll," Erick said while looking at me. I took a deep breath. He was nervous too. I knew it from the way he was holding my hand, but he was hiding it very well. He knows if he shows his nervousness, it will be hard for me to be calm. His blue eyes remained fixed on me. My nervousness was making him more nervous. I nodded my head and kept taking deep breaths. We kept waiting until it was our turn to meet the doctor.

"Doctor is waiting for you," the nurse said while opening the door for us. I immediately got up and walked in with Erick by my side. I was feeling so nervous. The nurse smiled at me, and I smiled back in nervousness. She closed the door on her way out.

"Ready for the first sonography," the doctor said while looking at us.

"Yes, doctor," I said with a smile nervously at her while holding Erick's hand more firmly.

"First, let's take your blood samples for taste, and till we are done with sonography, we will get the results," she said with a polite smile, and I once again nodded. I can't even express the nervousness I was feeling inside me. She once again called the nurse, and she took my blood. Erick stayed beside me, holding my hand throughout the procedure. Once the nurse was done, she put a sticker on my arm to stop it from coming out.

"We will get the results soon; now let's do the sonography," the doctor said as soon as the nurse was done taking the blood samples. She stood up from her seat and opened the curtains to reveal a bed and a few machines beside it. It has a monitor and a few things attached to it.

"Come one, lie down," the doctor said when she noticed I was still standing in my place. I looked at Erick. My heart was beating so fast in fear.

"Don't worry, Doll. I'm here," he said before pressing a kiss on my forehead. A big lump formed at the base of my throat. I nodded my head and walked with him to the bed. Then only I let go of his hand and lay down on the bed.

"Please pull your pants down till your lower belly," she said politely, and I could sense she was being so patient with me after noticing how nervous I was. I took a deep breath and did what she asked.

"Good," she said, and I put some tissue on the edge of my pants before she started applying a cool gel to my belly. I shivered when the cool gelly touched my warm skin. I looked at Erick, who was standing at the edge of the bed looking at me. His blue eyes never moved from me, and to make me feel better, he held my feet with his palm.

"Let's start it," the doctor said while taking some device in her hand, and my nervousness skyrocketed. She spread the gel on my belly properly before looking at the monitor. She kept looking at the monitor, and I kept looking at her. Her rested brows furrowed when she moved the device once again to the same spot on my lower belly. She bit on her lower lip and then moved the device to the other side. My heart kept beating fast inside my rib cage. My eyes refuse to look away from me. She applied some gel and moved the device once again to the belly. As she was trying to confirm something or as if she was not sure of something. Is something wrong with my baby, or is something wrong with me?

Why isn't she saying anything?
