I'm not ready for it.She showed me the dress, which was still covered neatly. It was one of her designs. For the first time, she made something without discussing it with me. A big smile was on her face. She was excited about it, and it was clear from her face. Without waiting for my reply, which she won't get. She opened the zip of the cover. A bottle of green mermaid gown, the same as my eye colour, was in front of me. It had a bardot sweetheart neck, which showed my ample cleavage with off-shoulder sleeves. It looked like a princess gown. My eyes widened, but my face had no expression when looking at the dress. Not even a single word fell out of my mouth. The huge smile on Arias's face remained intact even after looking at my face. She was proud of her design, and it was clear on her face. Eveline raised her eyebrows in appreciation before looking at me.
“Kill this suspense and tell me now. What do you think?” Aria asked me when I had still not opened my mouth to say something. I was speechless. The dress was very beautiful. If I wear it, it would be a waste of such a beautiful dress because I know I won't do even a bit of justice to this beauty.
“The dress is exceptionally beautiful,” I said finally, which restored the big smile on her face.
“Everything is so perfect, and the absence of any kind of stone on it makes it even more beautiful,” I told her, expressing my genuine thoughts.
“I agree with you. It makes it look simple and fine. Good work," Evelyn said, appreciating it.
"I knew you would like it. I can't wait to see you in this dress,” she said happily, in our opinion. She deserves the praise.
"Yeah, I know she will look like a princess in it,” Evelyn said, matching her excitement. I was feeling too bad to say the next thing.
“I'm sorry, but I don't think I will wear it on my engagement,” I said apologetically, and it made both of them look at me in surprise.
“But why?” Evelyn asked with a confused look in her eyes.
“Yes, tell us why. You didn't like the design. You want to change something. Tell me, I will change it,” Aria said, suggesting changing a masterpiece she created.
“No, you don't need to do that. The dress is gorgeous, and the design is top-notch,” I said imminently before she started to doubt herself. I don't want my insecurities to affect her skills. “If design is not the problem, Then what's the problem?'' Aria asked with a slumped shoulder. I bit on my lower lip, hesitating to tell them. They kept looking at me, wanting me to tell them.
“I don't think I will be doing justice to this dress. I don't want your hard work to go in vain. Instead, we can use this dress as a showstopper in our coming event,” I suggested with a small smile on my face. I will never be able to do justice to this dress as a model who has a perfect figure. I don't see myself anywhere near them.
“Shut up,” Evelyn said, her eyes narrowing in my direction.
“Stop doubting yourself. I just don't know when you stop doing that. You will look great in that dress, and you are wearing it,” she said, looking straight into my eyes. She has seen me doubt myself countless times. What should I do? Self-doubt has been rooted inside me since a young age, and my past experiences have made this worse for me.
“Yes, Evelyn is right. I made this dress keeping you in mind. You were the inspiration behind this dress, not any model,” Aria said, sounding a little hurt. I didn't want to make her feel that way.
“Sorry, Aria, I didn't mean to hurt you. It was not my intention. I just don't want your hard work to go in vain,” I said softly. I tried my best to explain to her my reason.
“If that was not your intention, then you will wear this dress on your engagement, and I will think that my hard work paid off,” she said, refusing to accept my apology.
"Yes, she is right,” Evelyn said, agreeing with Aria. She knew I didn't mean to say that. I gave her pleading eyes, but she moved her head in no way. Leaving no choice for me. I looked at the dress once again. I just don't know what I should do. The last time I looked at Aria, she had the same expression on her face. I don't want to hurt people who care for me. I exhaled deeply before nodding my head.
“I will wear the dress,” I said, agreeing with them. It brought a big smile back to Arias's face.
“Then go and try it. I want to see the fitting,” she said, handing me the dress and pushing me into the changing room in my office. I changed into a dress, and it was a little flattering on me. I have put on some weight. It's all because of him. He has put Fergus on my back, and Fergus won't shut up his nagging until I have a proper meal the whole day. Aria said altering the dress wouldn't be a problem, and the dress looked perfect on me. I found it hard to believe it, but I still smiled at them. She happily went to the rest of her job, and Evelyn and I discussed the budget for the coming event. In the afternoon, Isabella and Sage came. Aria showed them the best design. They loved it. In the evening, we all went out for dinner because it was so long that we ate together. It was fun to talk over meals with them. For the rest of the two days, I had fun with Sabrina. I worked, and when I was not working, I would be playing with her. He called me every day before going to sleep. I had ignored his few calls because I was busy playing with Sabrina, but then he threatened me with a message. Saying he will come there if I don't pick up his calls. He left no choice for me. Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
Today, my heart was beating fast from the moment I woke up.
Today is the day I will officially have his ring on my finger.
Today is the day I'm getting engaged to him.
