I'm getting really sick
Sick of how sorry sounds
Coming right out your mouth, oh
Don't get too comfortable
'Cause I might not be there
Next time you turn around, sowhat would you do? - Tate McRae
Y/N's POV
November 1st, 2023
After the success of the foster home's open house, I stayed one more day, enjoying my time with my Casserole before I had to get back to LA for 'Power Strike's second album release this Friday. The band and I have been working on it for almost a year now, writing in between the tours and my movies, so I'm pretty excited for our fans to listen to it.
The album talks about an individual's growth and healing after a breakup. It's kind of like the sequel to the EP and our first album, with less songs talking about heartbreak, and more songs talking about self-love.
After I arrived though, Becky texted me and asked me to hang out. With the album release, the open house, the concerts and the reshoots for the movie, we haven't been able to just have a chill day and spend some time together, so when she proposed for us to meet, I agreed easily.
"Hi Becks", I greet my friend before we share a warm hug.
"Hi Y/N/N, it's good to see you", Becky tells me as I laugh a bit at her words.
"Becky, we saw each other two days ago", I tell her in between laughs as she rolls her eyes at me.
"I know that, Y/N. I'm just happy I get to enjoy my friend for once, without other people around us or having to deal with work. I had to get you to slow down for a change and just enjoy your life a bit", Becky teases me, and I shake my head at her words.
"Yeah well, thank you for getting me out of the office. I was starting to feel like I was going crazy", I admit to her as we share a small laugh. "So, what are we doing?", I ask curious as Becky smiles at me before moving to the side and revealing a pair of bicycles. "We're riding bikes?"
"Yeah, I know it's nothing fancy, but I was hoping having a stroll in this beautiful park will help us both relax", Becky offers, and I just smile at her before grabbing one of the bikes and starting to ride it in circles.
"What are you waiting for? Let's ride!", I tell her with a smile as I see her hop on the other bike, and we start riding along the jogging path of the park.
For about fifteen minutes, we were just enjoying the nice fall weather and the calm vibe of the empty public space during this random Wednesday morning. At some point, the path in the park became curvy and a total challenge, so I decided to create a small competition with my friend.
"Hey Becks, last to make it to that fountain over there buys lunch", I tell her while riding by her side before increasing my speed to win the competition.
"Hey! That was an unfair head start!", I hear her yell behind me, but I just continue to ride along the path with the fountain as my final destination.
While riding one of the curves, I saw Becky stop riding completely before leaving her bike against a tree and sitting down on the grass. That's when I did a 180-degree Tokyo Drift style turn, before riding back to where she had stopped.
"Are you okay? Did you just give up?", I tease her as I get off my bike and join her on the grass.
"No, I didn't give up. I just got a bit out of breath", she tells me, and I hum in response before a comfortable silence falls between us.
