I've made up my mind
Don't need to think it over
If I'm wrong, I am right
Don't need to look no further
This ain't lust
I know this is love, but

Chasing Pavements - Adele

Lizzie's POV

October 7th, 2023

It's been a couple of hard days. My week started pretty strong, but towards the end, everything had turned into an absolute nightmare. After talking with Y/N and making progress with the whole reconciliation plan, I went back home feeling very happy. That happiness was quickly taken away, yet again, by a fight with Robbie.

Besides the fact that he hasn't slept at home for the past two weeks, he also told me that on Monday there's an event for the release of Becky's latest book, 'Finley Kade GI - Status: Emeritus', which is the last book for her second book trilogy. Since the editorial for 'Hattie Harmony' is the same editorial with which Becky publishes her books, we were invited to support her as fellow writers.

Now, I don't have a problem with attending the event, even if Becky and I aren't each other's favorite people. The problem is that Robbie wanted to go alone, in representation of the both of us he said, to let me rest after the crazy filming schedule I've had. But he didn't fool me, he wanted to go see Becky. And not only that, but he also wasn't planning on telling me about the event in the first place.

Sarah received a phone call yesterday from Oscar, the event's organizer, to confirm Robbie and I's attendance. That's when Sarah went to check if I had received an email about it and found that the email had been deleted. The only other person with access to my email is Robbie, and I hadn't seen the email either, otherwise, I would've known about the event before he brought it up. So, I ended up confronting him with the proof of his scheme, and we had a huge fight last night. When I woke up this morning, he wasn't anywhere around the house, and I didn't even attempt to figure out his location. He knew he made a mistake, and I wasn't happy with him at all.

All day was pretty boring. I did some gardening and practiced some lines for a couple of my projects, but most of my day was pretty empty. And, since I'm feeling like shit already, why not lift my spirits with a couple of drinks?

I got in my car and started driving. I was so in thought thinking about everything that I need to resolve in my life, that I didn't even realize I had driven all the way to 'Club Skylark'. It was a good thing my mind unconsciously brought me here since I was already on the list after Y/N asked for me to be added on the VIP guest list, so I was able to get inside the club without a reservation.

As I walk towards the bar to ask for my favorite drink, I see something that left me speechless. Y/N is behind the counter, shaking and tossing mixers in the air while preparing multiple drinks and handing them out to the different people sitting along the counter. I take a seat at one of the free stools and wait for Y/N to finish her little show.

Once she spots me, she stops all her actions before quickly washing her hands in the small sink behind the counter and grabbing a towel to dry her hands. She walks closer to my spot and swings the towel over her shoulder. For some reason, that was very sexy to me.

"Okay Lizzie, I know you are obsessed with me, but this is getting out of hand. How are you figuring out where I am at all times?", Y/N tells me defensive, and I shake my head at her words.

"No, Y/N. I promise I'm not following you. If I'm being honest, I did ask for a little help to meet you on set and at the studio, but today was a mere coincidence. I was just bored and alone at home, so I decided to get a drink and...forget about everything for a little bit", I explain to her, feeling bummed by the end of it all.
