Because summer will turn into fall
Then you'll leave and you're gone
You don't need me at all
Like the trees in the autumn breeze
It's ironic the way that you leavethis is what autumn feels like - JVKE
Lizzie's POV
November 4th, 2023
Late last night we received the sad news about Becky's passing. I was filming some stuff for my movie 'The Assessment' this week, that's why I couldn't attend the band's album premiere. But I still wanted to congratulate Y/N for this big milestone in her career.
I kept calling her phone, but she wouldn't answer me. I got kind of worried and kept calling her. Thankfully, during one of my many tries, Y/N finally answered my call, or so I thought. Julie was actually the one who answered the phone and told me about Becky's passing.
From what Julie explained while still being in shock with the news, Becky had been dealing with a tumor in her brain for quite some time now, but she hadn't told anyone about it. She had decided to not go through any treatment since her diagnosis was terminal, and it seems that her body couldn't fight the illness anymore, causing her to die peacefully in her sleep yesterday.
I shared the news with Robbie, and of course he agreed for us to attend the funeral together. We got ready early in the morning today before driving to the place where Julie had told me the funeral is going to take place at.
As we arrive, I can feel the heavy mood of the room strongly. The room is poorly lit, a casket is placed close to the back wall in full display. Everyone is dressed in black, and they're gathered in small groups around the room. The only thing that brings color to the room and this unfortunate situation are the beautiful flower arrangements around the casket.
Robbie and I walk further into the room as I try to look for Lewis, to give my condolences to him as Becky's husband, and to Becky's family as well. I manage to spot the band and Julie as well as my friends from the cast of Y/N and Becky's first movie, along with Aubrey, who I had forgotten was Becky's friend way before Y/N and I met her. We briefly greet them before I continue to look around until I spot Y/N, sitting on the second row of chairs while Katie softly rubs her back and Y/N just looks forward in silence, looking completely broken. I decide to approach them.
"Y/N...", I call out her name softly as she looks in my direction slowly before her face changes from an emotionless one to a sad one.
"Lizzie...", Y/N says weakly as she reaches for me. Without a second thought, I drop my bag on the front row and sit next to Y/N before engulfing her on a hug. In a matter of seconds, she completely breaks down in my arms, sobbing inconsolably. I just hug her tightly, rubbing her back soothingly and trying to help her in any way I can.
"It's okay, Angel. I'm here, you're okay", I whisper in her ear as I leave soft kisses on the side of her head and stroke her beautiful short hair.
